Has a gluten-free menu, but definitely not celiac safe. Lots of oils and far too many chances for cross contamination.

Although I did not eat, I snapped the GF menu for anyone that would need it on here.

They were so kind and accommodating! I was introduced to the chef and was give specifics of what I could have, along with a menu on the wall of their GF items. I have a dairy allergy too, and they were great and knowledgeable about that!

The waitress was knowledgeable and when she wasn’t sure about some DF stuff, she checked with the kitchen. Menu was not marked. The bbq chicken itself was tender, but the bbq taste was not my favorite. Very good potato salad. The portions were a good size, enough for lunch and dinner. I did not get sick - nor did my DF/GF husband or NF daughter. Our younger daughter loved that she could keep the frisbee that her kid’s meal came on.

We had take out and the brisket with mashed potatoes was so great we went back a second time. The gf sides are marked and the bbq sauce is gf too. I didn’t have any issues and I’m very sensitive to react. Highly recommend.

Much of the menu is already gluten free, but the server confirmed what I could have and made sure it didn't include a hush puppie which would normally come with it. Ate here twice during our stay and didn't get sick. Bonus is that the food is awesome.

Celiac friendly?

Yes

Waitress says that the sauce is gluten free, but before (last year) they had told me it was not - little weary about it, but I have intolerance and not celiac. Great place, but did not offer accommodations or double checking the ingredients. Great place to eat for non-gluten free diets.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly! The food was delicious! Tyler was an amazing help. He went and read ingredient labels for us! I ordered pulled chicken and ribs! Yum! I'd highly recommend!

There really wasn't much on the menu besides Pulled Pork that would be gluten free. Although I'm not sure even that is safe for a Celiac. The BBQ sauce they make and use on most things has wheat according to the owner. HOWEVER, when I explained the situation, they were more than accommodating. They made my daughter (who has CD) a special meal and the waitress was very kind in trying to find appropriate things for my daughter to eat. While it wasn't the perfect gluten free restaurant, they went above and beyond to help us. Their dedication to finding something that would work, gives this place it's 4 star review. For someone who doesn't need to eat gluten free, the brisket was AMAZING!

If you're looking for authentic North Carolina Barbecue joint, Sooeys is the place to go. Even though they don't have a gluten free menu, the wait staff is very knowledgeable and let you know what options are available. There was plenty of gluten free options to choose from and the food was out of this world.

Ordered a pork bbq platter and it came out with hush puppies. I explained why I couldn’t eat them and sent it back and an identical plate without hush puppies came out less then 5 minutes later. Not sure if they were just picked off or if the plate was fresh but luckily I did not get sick. Pork bbq was good but the brisket was super fatty.

Our waitress, Ginger, said almost everything on the menu is GF except for the fried foods. My husband (who is celiac) had the full rack of ribs - said it was wonderful! His only complaint was the green beans were soggy, over cooked.
