I LOVED it. Everything was beautiful and healthy. Most things could be made GF. It is macrobiotic and very veggie forward. Husband and son liked it okay. Wasn’t close enough to the non GF ramen son misses. But I do recommend it. Especially if you are vegan and or love lots of fresh vegetables.
I love Souen. It’s a macrobiotic Japanese restaurant. They have a lot of gluten free and vegan options (ramen, noodle dishes, fish, sushi, etc).
Their desserts are vegan and dairy free too. Every dessert I’ve tried has been really good: chocolate mousse, blueberry muffins, etc.
I highly recommend this place!
Decided on the Veggie Ramen with brown rice noodles, Brussels sprouts and sautéed kale. Service was very slow, food was good, spent the afternoon feeling ill due to cross contact. My husband and I asked about cross contact and was assured they would use separate water for the noodles.
Very tasty and plenty of GF and /or vegetarian options. I started with the sautéed brussell sprouts in peanut sauce (not spicy) and the wild white fish brown rice ramen. Large portion and delicious. The server, Chris, was so sweet and when I had the Kikuchi tea with apple and lemon he recommended I try it without. He brought me a second plain cup to try and he was right. The earthiness came out more and I liked it better. All the desserts are GF so I will have to come back for that next time.
Your Choice of noodles (white or organic brown rice) macrobiotic food and gluten free soy and peanut sauce. Yum! No meat, mostly vegan with the exception of fish (back and white cod and salmon).
Ramen was good and it had anice atmosphere. They offer a menu and good looking healthy food.
