Food is really good, majority of coffee drinks are gluten free, 3 gluten free items all requiring syrup, but the syrup IS NOT gluten free. Caramel Color is in it. I asked and she said yes, but after eating I promptly got sick. I trust the food, just bring your own syrup.
Caution about Southern Bell in Plainfield. I asked the server if the egg wash for the GF French toast was the same as the regular one. She didn’t know but was eager to ask. Came back to the table and said… it is used for the regular one- but my manager is really upset that I am telling you this. Mr he manager @Southernbell did not want me to know the gluten free French toast was not gluten free. I ordered something else that should be safe- but have some tell tale signs that I at least a trace gluten today :(
Had their breakfast tacos and they were delicious!! Staff was knowledgeable and felt comfortable eating there.

Great Crepes! Highly recommend getting those. French toast and pancakes are also pretty good. Big Portions! The menu does a very small gluten free section, containing three breakfast options (pancakes, French toast, crepes). Of course any skillets or omelets can be/are gluten free. We were told other than the designated Gluten Free section that some of the other menu items could be made gluten free. However these items are not marked so you kinda have to ask if they can make it gluten free for every one, which is a little annoying. Over all good experience.
This place is AMAZING ! We came because I saw the gf crepes in the menu. When I got there, I asked if they had buns/bread and they do! Can’t wait to go back and get more options !

Southern Belle’s has gluten free crepes that are delicious, and a welcome change to the normal gluten free options at breakfast places. They also have gluten free Johnny cakes and French toast on the menu., in addition to the normal breakfast fare.
Almost everything on the menu can be prepared GF. We order their fun french toast creations GF and they are always delicious! My husband does not have celiac. So I can't comment on cross-contamination.
