Southport Smoke House

I stopped at Southport Smokehouse today for lunch. I spoke with the staff and was informed of what items were gluten free. They were specific to note that call their items gluten-friendly, as they are made without gluten containing ingredients, but are prepared in a shared kitchen, so there is a chance for CC.

Most meats and several sides were all gluten-friendly. In addition they said all the sauces are gluten friendly. I chose pulled pork, green beans, and red slaw. I used the eastern Carolina bbq sauce and I had no reaction!!

Overall this was a positive experience with a manager who was well informed. I would eat here again and recommend!

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Southport. Great and knowledgeable staff regarding GF items. All meat and sauces are GF and most sides. We all enjoyed the food...very tasty! We will definitely go back. Highky recommend!

We love this place! Beef brisket is wonderful!

Staff very knowledgeable about gf. All the sauces and meats gf. Potato salad and Cole slaw Gf. Food was AMAZING!!!!!! Many choices. Cooked to perfection. Non GF family all agreed best bbq ever !!! Cannot wait to go back !!!

The staff is familiar with gluten sensitivity. I have eaten here several times and not gotten sick. Just make them aware of your problem.

I can't stop thinking about the lunch I had here recently. It was amazing. All of the meats and most of the sides are gf. The huge pile of pulled pork I got had the most beautiful pieces of bark mixed in and the smoke flavor was nice and strong. The sweet BBQ sauce complimented the meat perfectly. I got the potato salad as my side and it was nice and simple - just the way I like it. Great service and a nice atmosphere.

AMAZING. is really all I have to say about this lots of gluten free side choices and all their sauces are gluten free as well as their barbque will definitely be going back.

Great ribs and bbq! Potato salad, yummy slaw, baked beans, lots of sauces all gluten free, and can be ordered a la carte or in a combo plate. Pleasant roomy dining area, including an outdoor porch. Friendly staff, knowledgeable about GF ingredients, quick service done cafeteria-style. For non-celiacs in your group, hush puppies are not to be missed, but sadly not GF, and fries/buffalo chips are also not safe for celiacs as they are done in the same fryer.

Great barbeque - pork, brisket, ribs. Had the pulled pork plate. Nice portions - all sauces are gluten free, green beans, potato salad and red and white slaw are gluten free. Hope they start making banana pudding with gf cookies!
