If your a Celiac this isn't the place for you. The staff is not well versed on Celiac. I asked if they had separate fryers. They said, we use soy oil so no worries. I explained it didn't have to do with the kind of oil but what other items were fried in the oil.... ahhh no we don't have separate fryers. The nachos are listed gluten free but are made in the same fryer as everything else. If you eat here It's a crap shoot, no pun intended.
ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES I'VE EVER HAD! Honestly met the nicest waitress who was also the most knowledgeable about GF stuff. She was quick to tell me they changed the recipe for the mustard on a burger and she knew it had gluten. They take their allergies seriously! I had a bratwurst hamburger, a root beer float, hashbrowns, coleslaw, and the most amazing BBQ chicken flat bread that MUST be tried. The flat bread looks like a mini pizza and everyone at the table lost it over how delicious it was. My guests didn't have Celiac so they ordered flights of hard soda and beers and we're soooo happy. Honestly, I had such selection I didn't even mind. I had one of my favorite red ones available to drink anyhow. We liked it so much we tipped our waitress 25%, a true first.
Second time at this Sprecher's location. Second time I specifically ordered GF off the menu, explaining that I have Celiacs disease.... BOTH times my order came out containing gluten. In fact, after bringing my order back out the server lectured me that "of you're really allergic, you shouldn't eat here". 😳 No apology. Just a lecture about cross-contamination. Other Sprecher's locations are great. This one, steer clear!!
I was a bit concerned immediately upon reading the gluten free menu the hostess provided. It had many options of "order this and make sure to substitute this". The menu also emphasized that the items were gluten free but prepared in a gluten environment. We sat down to eat and informed the server my son has celiac. He did know that meant gluten free. When I quizzed him on the preparation area (separate pans, area on the grill, care to avoid cross contamination, etc) he said nothing was really separate. I informed him that cooking gluten free items on top of gluten items could make our son very sick and he basically said we would be taking a risk. I chose to leave with my son and leave the rest of our family there. It wasn't worth the risk to me. I'm surprised so many people said this place was celiac friendly. Luckily my son (2 yrs old and only diagnosed for 4 months) was very good about coming back to the condo for leftovers while his siblings got to stay and eat. I wish people would really take the time to write more accurate reviews so we weren't faced with this situation. If you choose to eat in a place like this and don't get sick, I'm happy for you, but I still wouldn't label it as celiac friendly.
Large GF menu! Lots of options.
Familiar with celiac kids and great gluten free pasta!
Delicious. Has a fairly extensive GF menu.
delicious! home made gf bread and veggie burgers! great gf menu
Amazing menu. Burger was great.
Absolutely delicious gluten free pasta! I had the pasta Alfredo and it was so yummy. They had a very large tri-fold gluten free menu. I was more than impressed and am so glad I found this place while visiting the Dells!
Good service, good food, plenty of options, nothing spectacular about the bun, bun the hash browns are really good. Their gf menu (not on website) is very clear on how to order gf and what is fried communally.
Great gluten free options. Safe, too!
Burger was fantastic. Server was very accommodating and knowledgable. Be advised that tortilla chips/fries are not made in a dedicated fryer.
no flavor on alfredo gf pasta, tacos very sweet.
Daughter had a burger w gf bun, "yummy". Fries are on gf menu, but when I asked the server informed me they were fried in same fryer as other foods. Fries should NOT be on the gf menu at all. Other than that very happy w how they handle cross contamination.
My daughter had the ribeye with grilled asparagus. She loved it and loved the options!
Awesome place. They have a gluten free menu which helps. Very good food. Had the carnitas and steak and wedge entree salad. Delicious!
Great selection of food (hard to pick!) We actually went their twice during our Dells vacation. Their GF bun was delicious and buttery (not dry at all). The first visit I had a crazy burger with a brat patty and sauerkraut; highly recommend! I didn't ask about whether they had a dedicated fryer, as I was trying to get some fruits and veggies into our bodies. They also had a GF beer, but I didn't try that either. All of their sodas were GF though and delicious :)
Great service. Separate gluten-free menu with many choices. Anyone who is dairy intolerant also - beware - the cranberry pecan rice has cheese in it. Otherwise, the food was great.
our server helped me and answered all my questions. The gf flat bread is made on a shared conveyer belt, he said they could cook in a pan upon request, it was good but under cooked. For dinner I had a pulled pork on a gf buns and hashbrowns. I would go back if I'm ever in the dells again. They have a large gf menu and gf beer.
This was great for gluten-free food. A dedicated large menu with a lot of choices from appetizers to entrees. They also have gluten-free housemade rootbeers and gluten-free beer. Try the orange dream with or without the icecream for a float. Our favorite are the pork carnitas from the appetizer menu, large portion, corn cake bottom with pulled pork, cabbage and avocado ranch dressing which was all gluten-free and absolutely delicious, we went back just for them. Fish tacos were also good, burgers were a little dry. Gluten-free flatbreads were also good.
We have celiac disease two of our family members and it is an excellent restaurant with tons of options big portions and a wonderful restaurant great beer selections celiac friendly.
Awesome menu selection, awesome food, very helpful. Highly recommend.
Amazing flat bread pizza! Crust is home made and delicious--best I've ever had!
Do not eat here if you have celiac disease or are gluten sensitive. The GF menu appears to be a nice selection of salads, sandwiches and entrées but not so. The food preparation and cooking surfaces not separate or cleaned from gluten entrées preps. I wanted a GF Reuben sandwich but it is grilled on the same surface with gluten breads so I ordered a GF salad thinking it would be safe. The salad came with additional ingredients (non-GF) that were not listed on the menu and I was not told. I noticed it and talked to the server who was unsure. The manager stated that it contained additional ingredients and I should not eat it. Another red flag was the menu explanation that states "to QUALIFY for GF..." just substitute with a GF bun. I suspect that some of the other ingredients on the sandwiches may not have been GF either. I've had celiac disease for several yrs and have come to know which ingredients to stay away from. In the end, I did not eat here; I walked out hungry and very disappointed.
No pasta. But couple good pizza options. Burgers w/ GF buns!! Steak. Really yummy root beer float.
When they seated me I told them I was GF, and the host grabbed a whole separate menu! No needing to weed through menu details here. Delicious, and I bought some of their GF buns to take back to our resort. No whole foods store in the Dells :/
Great menu choices! I had Cajun chicken with quinoa -delicious! I loved their sodas -gluten free. The blueberry was amazing! Great waiter. Wish we lived here so we could become regulars!
Absolutely huge menu absolutely wonderful here all the time different locations very very careful you will definitely love their food and reasonably priced
Separate GF menu, ask for it. Most excellent GF flat bread!
I don't recall being told about a gf bun, probably missed it on the menu, but I love their food. And the root beer is the best!
The BBQ chicke flatbread is more like a BBQ chicken pizza with a crunchy gf crust. It's was outstanding. It's considered a appetizer, but I had more than enough to take home for another meal. There are so many gf options it was hard to choose.
Decent GF bun, good selection of apps (we highly recommend the cachapas!!!), fair amout of entres and burgers, but the only gluten free dessert was sorbet. All of their homemade sodas are GF and they carry one GF beer (not two like the above menu states as they are not actually owned by the brrwery). Fantastic service.
A wonderful experience. Educated staff. An extensive menu. One of the better GF buns that I have eaten.
Amazing menu with pizza, pasta, and other items. Good service with knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.
Great food and the wait staff was knowledgable and helpful. So amazing to feel so comfortable ordering in a restaurant again. Our waitress kept apologizing for the extra $1 charge for my GF bun! I told her that was nothing! We will DEFINITELY be returning.
Excellent black and bleu burgers
We had a fantastic meal at Sprecher's! I had the Cheesehead burger with a gluten free bun and hashbrowns on the side. The entire meal was excellent and we will definitely be returning!
We found this by accident. The wait & kitchen staff were quite helpful even on a busy Thursday night dinner rush.
