My husband & son are gluten intolerant & I’m lactose intolerant. We got 3 pizzas from here through Uber eats (tried to order through website but wouldn’t go through so just ordered through Uber eats). The crust was thick which my family isn’t used to anymore. My husband enjoyed it but my son didn’t care for the thicker crust which is just a matter of preference. The pepperonis were over cooked on top so I wish I would have ordered create your own pizza & not The Pepperoni because it was too many pepperonis so most were over cooked. I wish I would have just asked for no cheese since the dairy free cheese was just meh like normal dairy free cheese. The sauce was good.
I checked this shop out based on good reviews. I spoke to the man working there and he told me the GF pizza is not safe for someone with an allergy or celiac due to shared workspaces and shared ovens. He said he wanted to be honest to keep me safe. I really appreciated his knowledge about cross contact and being upfront about it.
Gluten-free pizza base made separately.
Even fries are cooked in a separate fryer.
In my opinion the best pizza in San Francisco, the base is light but crispy even my husband tried some and said it tasted fantastic!
Had no reaction from eating here!
Just to take note that if you're paying for your meal/food using a credit card from a bank that's not in the US order at the till as the payment fails and the amount will hold on your card.
Also loved eating here as my name was a type of pizza 🤣
Order from here often, I love the big von pizza. The dough is incredible. Their wings are also gluten free and are so delicious. Also their ranch… so good.
They post warnings of it not being celiac safe, however I have eaten here many times and not felt sick. I’m not as sensitive as most celiacs, but other pizza places have given me reactions when I’ve had their gf pizza. But never here.
Had a GF build your own pie. It was a bit pricey, but it was very good. This is Detroit style deep dish and lends itself well to the GF adaption. Staff was also amazing and you can’t beat the view of the Bay and Alcatraz Island.
Went yesterday after reading reviews here, but had to leave. They have a notice on the online ordering system (you order on your phone) that says they specifically do not recommend that celiacs eat there. I spoke with someone who worked there to confirm, assuming this was to cover them for any liability, etc., but the message was reiterated. The person I spoke with gave zero indication that they take any precautions whatsoever to prevent cross contamination. If you are used to having these conversations put you at ease like “we’ll do everything we can but can’t guarantee…” just FYI that is not the conversation you should expect to have here. I appreciate the guy’s honesty obviously, just wondering how this was missed on all the other reviews.
Gf pizza crust and dairy free option. The pizza is a small , square pizza and expensive. Not enough to feed more than 1 or 2 people.
Not sure about cross contamination, but GF pizza was prepared and brought out separately. Chicago style pizza was fantastic!
