Gluten free French Toast was delicious. I had mine with fresh blueberries and pecans. They offer real maple syrup for addl cost.
We had the senior special and it was just the right portion size for both my husband and me.
The owners were very involved in the operations and went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating.
AMAZING gluten free french toast!!! Amazing, friendly and quick service! Can be very busy but worth the short wait even with a long line! We have eaten here three times in four days! Great music too! Coloring books and crayons for kids too! One celiac and one severely gluten intolerant and neither got sick. Delicious fresh blueberries and strawberries.
Yummy. GF French toast, potatoes, omlettes. Knowledgeable owner. Open kitchen, would ask about cross-contamination if you are very sensitive.
Breakfast was delicious, gf not written on in person menu but staff seemed very comfortable talking about options and understanding the requests. gluten free french toast came with four REGULAR SIZED slices and was delicious and very reasonable priced. Would go back!
My breakfast was great here! They seem to have a good understanding of gluten. I was a bit worried about cross contamination, as when you see them cooking in the back it looks like the same items containing wheat may touch the same surfaces. Just be aware of that. They offer GF toast, omelettes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and grits.
I went in because of the reviews, but this place is sadly not safe for a celiac. They have GF options, but the eggs are the only thing cooked/prepared separately. I spoke with a few different people, and all confirmed the bacon/sausage and even the GF toast is cooked/made alongside gluten items. I almost got their granola, but the oats are not certified GF. I was bummed as a celiac to not be able to eat. But if you are just GF and unconcerned of cross contamination, it seems like a great option!
Went to both Stack ‘Em High locations while in the area. Make sure you go to the Kill Devils Hill location, as they have the gf options (gf bread for toast and French toast, which was delicious), they will also ask if it’s for allergy and will take precautions. The Kitty Hawk location does not offer gf options and is under different management.
I didn't see gluten free options on the menu board but they had a sign that said to tell them about food allergies and when I did so, they offered to substitute gluten free toast for the regular toast that came with the breakfast. They said they prepared it separately so they don't cross contaminate. The breakfast was amazing and we had a great experience!
We ate here on vacation. I had eggs and a muffin, as the gf muffin was prepackaged. Eggs were cooked on a different grill from the other stuff so they were fairly safe. Potatoes were on one side of a grill also used for pancakes, so not worth the risk of cross contamination for me. Eggs and gf muffin were good and didn't get sick!
They don't offer pancakes or waffles gluten free! Search elsewhere if you have your heart set on those. It's a neat beachy atmosphere and my omelet was good.
