5 stars..: they let me look at the allergen menu and changed gloves for my food. My 7 year old and I brought GF buns to make our own sandwiches . We had brisket , turkey, and Cole slaw.

Many of their menu items are gluten free friendly but you have to be very careful that the person who takes your order notes if you have an allergy. My meat was served touching multiple slices of bread. They offered to remove the bread, after I told them again that I had an allergy. The employees were not as helpful as prior reviews said and were noticably put out that my meal needed extra care. Not sure I would come back, not worth the risk of getting sick. If you are not very sensitive, you would probably be safe here.

Finally got to experience Stanley’s. Food is top notch, oh so good. Snd I was SO happy to order at a place where I can eat almost everything (but the bread). And where they knew to change gloves etc. Very knowledgeable and super sweet. And you can’t beat the bbq. Will definitely be a regular stop when we visit tyler family.

First of all — get the ribs. Stanley’s is one of four local places I can eat with absolute confidence. Tell the cashier you have a gluten allergy, and that gets immediately verbally passed to the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. So cool! When I was first diagnosed Celiac, I mentioned it while ordering, and not only did they assure me that 95% of the menu is gluten free (everything but actual bread products), but one of the chefs who has family members with Celiac disease found me on the patio and gave me tips about other restaurants and how and where it is safe for me to eat. Every time I place my special order, I’m met with above and beyond kindness, and have I mentioned the ribs?

Stanley’s catered our wedding, my husband has Celiac and was diagnosed after we booked them. I spoke to the catering manager and she said he would be 100% fine, all their food (besides the buns/sliced bread) is gluten free as well as the sauces. He enjoyed every SYMPTOM-FREE bite! Highly recommend!

A stop at Stanley's is an absolute MUST on every visit to Tyler from Michigan. They have been voted best ribs in Texas several times, and their bar-b-q is delicious. All of their sauces are gluten free. No dedicated fryer, but everything on the menu is naturally gluten free except for bread, buns, fried items, etc. I get the brisket, potato salad, beans, and coleslaw, and I have never had any issues. Their sauces and seasonings can also be purchased in store, or online and shipped, and they are all (as of this date) gluten free. Be prepared for a long wait in line during leak times, as they are very popular. Live music and casual outdoor seating creates a genuine "Texas bar-b-q" experience, but note that smoking is allowed on the tables outside the covered areas, which I did not realize until someone lit up a cigarette a few tables away from me and my three young kids. Smoking is not allowed in restaurants in my home state, so I did not even consider that was a possibility. Overall, Stanley's is worth the drive if you are near enough, and their sauces and spices make for some delicious home grilled foods, too.
