While Stanley’s have a dedicated Gluten Free menu, with many choices I will not return due to being quite unwell and the lack of knowledge about GF. I have been glutened.
I was contaminated somewhere along the line and I had coffee and brunch at Stanley’s and it is the only thing I have eaten today.
When the server brought over the food she mistakenly announced my friends order as the gluten free meal, I asked if she was sure and she looked at my order and said “oh no. Yours is the gluten free meal as yours must be the gluten free one as the bread is from the M&S loaf” which didn’t fill me with confidence to start with, but I do recognise the bread!
The staff did not seem knowledgable about allergies, but did ask when I asked for a gluten free menu if it was an allergy or preference and I said allergy, however this seemed routine to ask, but “GF” was written on the paper order ticket.

We regularly eat here, lovely food well presented and have never had a stomach issue after eating here. I like their poached eggs on gluten-free bread, their gluten free banana bread (contains nuts) and their other more complicated dishes look delicious! Great for breakfast, brunch, special occasion brunch, lunches, cakes, teas, coffees, refreshing drinks.
