Staff was welcoming! Pointed out what I asked for and answered all my questions. It is a allergen friendly bakery. I’ll post more when I try everything.
My boyfriend & I visited this bakery last weekend while on vacation in San Diego. I've been to several dedicated gluten-free bakeries in orange county & this blew all of them out of the water! They aren't vegan & they use corn in all of their products, but I'm not vegan & thankfully not allergic to corn. We ordered 1 carrot cake & 1 mocha cupcake, 2 chocolate chip cookies, 1 regular brownie, 1 caramel swirl brownie, & 1 cinnamon roll. We took it all to-go & ate a different thing throughout the weekend & following week. Everyrhing was extremely moist & surprisingly (in a good way) not overly sweet. The carrot cake cupcake was probably the best carrot cake either of us had ever had. It was deliciously moist, fresh, & had a good kick of cardamom, cinnamon, & ginger. The mocha cupcake, I thought was even better! They included real espresso in the dough, so there was a delicious, rich coffee flavor. The cinnamon rolls left me wanting so much more! My boyfriend (who doesn't need gluten-free) said they tasted like "real" cinnamon rolls & the best he'd ever had. I felt the same. The chocolate chip cookies reminded me of my mother's regular chocolate chip cookies, which I grew up with (I developed celiac disease as an adult). The brownies were some of the best, really most but also deliciously crunchy brownies either myself our my boyfriend have ever had. We didn't get a chance to try everything on their extensive menu, but I would bet everything else is just as delicious. But my favorite items we tried were the mocha & carrot cake cupcakes & the cinnamon rolls. The only slight hiccup in our visit was the staff. They seemed more interested in socializing with each other than helping us choose what to get. As a first time customer a sample or something & more friendly & attentive customer service would have been appreciated. But I wasn't too turned off by their lack of service, because their treats were so delicious & more than made up for it.
I love how they stay open longer than usual gf/vegan shops! It’s a cute little bakery. I loved looking at all the pastries! They were super nice and helpful! I’m not from here locally but definitely worth coming back to when I visit again! I got a lemon poppyseed muffin and a rosemary scone!
Great desserts! Reasonable prices compared to other allergen friendly bakeries. Staff wasn't too friendly and were chatting it up amongst one another behind the counter the whole time - oh well! Yummy desserts and no reaction!
Celiac and Allergy friendly!!! Found this gem before flying from East to West Coast with our 6 yo (celiac, nut allergic including shared lines, egg and soy allergic). Surprised her with a stop and she was overwhelmed with the options. Even though I had done my research (web, apps, phone call to owners prior to visiting) staff were knowledgeable and questioning of allergens prior to selling us anything. First time ever to a bakery for our daughter! She still talks about the place and asks to try what they have. Wish they were in Pittsburgh and/or could delivered. Loved the cinnamon rolls and pretzel bread the best!!! Keep up the great work!
Great! No cross-contamination, & the best regular sandwich loaf I’ve had in SD. Note: do not refrigerate. Loaves only good for 4 days. Also: I loved the little cobbler cup.
If you are ever in the area, this is a must try! Everything is superb!
delicious cinnamon rolls and cupcakes, staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
Best Bakery hands down! I’ve visited a few allergen friendly bakeries but this place takes it to a new level.
The cupcakes were really good! I also got the lemonade with a shot of raspberry and loved it. They had a sign on the door that no outside food was allowed. I love how they are keeping the environment safe.
Along with having Celiac disease and avoiding gluten at all cost, I am also dairy free and soy free. This bakery is all of the above. They even make visitors leave outside food on a cart outside of the building to avoid any risk of cross contamination to their clean environment. My wife and I like to travel, and we've been to GF bakeries in at least a dozen states across the country. This is without a doubt the best GF bakery we've ever eaten at. I'm really glad we don't live here, because any chance of keeping my abs into my late 30s would be gone.
I’ve been to many gluten-free bakeries and this one is the best. I had a large assortment of items and each one was moist and incredible. I don’t understand how they made the pretzel roll taste so perfect.
What a treat to have a dedicated GF facility in San Diego! Their muffins are excellent. We'll be back for sure.
This place is lovely. Every single item was delicious, delicate, and delectable. Great care went into the crafting and the staff was supremely helpful!
This place is absolutely amazing!! They make the best gluten free bread I've ever had. I also got a mini cherry pie, along with a small danish- fantastic. They are extremely careful with cross contamination and don't allow outside food or drink. Everyone I met was so nice! Will most definitely be returning here!
Amazing bakery with breads and pastries and they even donate all leftover products to various charities. Amazing. Highly recommend. Also all they baked goods are few of the top 10 most common allergens.
awesome scones, cinnamon rolls and brownies
Be Warned... They're moving! New location opens May 2017 in Hillcrest! Closed for the month of April! Everything here is awesome! Does include corn in some stuff which is rather avoid but still delicious!
Haven't tried anything here that I DIDN'T like. Took a non-gluten free friend here and she loved it too. Bring cash if spending under $10.
Huge selection to choose from. Celiac aware. I love the baked bread. Although it is not sliced the taste and freshness make up for it. Try the bread!!!
This was the first bakery where I could eat anything I wanted in a year! And the food is delicious! I had some cookies, muffins, and cupcakes- all perfect and "normal" taste and texture. The best part was the loaf of bread. It was the best gf bread I've had. Even when it wasn't warm, it beat out everything else toasted. I wish I lived closer because I would buy that bread multiple times a week!
This adorable bakery in the suburb of Santee is named after the owner's childhood home in the Pennsylvania Poconos. Here, everything is cooked without animal products and the owners avoid anything that contains one of the six major allergens to prevent cross-contamination. Plus, everything is deliciously decadent. Look out for shortbread, coconut macaroons and chocolate lava cupcakes!
Excellent rolls when eaten fresh. Cookies and coffee cake are awesome! prices great compared to overpriced grocery store options! Highly recommend this place!
Its not my favorite. cookies are OK, prices are high. you'd think their product would be much better for the price.
i didnt think it was very good.
Yum! What a treat to find you while we were visiting Santee!
Best vegan bakery I've ever been to
top 8 free bakery with moist and delicious cookies and cupcakes. We had vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting, cinnamon swirl cookies, and star glazed sugar cookies. Few cupcakes readily available without advance order but they had what we needed and wanted in a pinch.
The best gluten free bakery in San Diego! I had a personalized valentines day basket made with cookies, cupcakes, chocolates galore. Everything is fantastic!
Friendly service & the treats are amazing!
We love this bakery!!! Everything is gluten free dairy free nut free egg free and soy free!! Everything I have tried here is awesome and tastes like the real thing! The staff & owner are very pleasant!! You won't be disappointed!!!
