Went to the Stokehouse downstairs for Sunday lunch with the family only one coeliac, me. They have always accommodated a gluten free diner and did so today, but today they did not meet their usual standard. We ordered 2 shared plates of antipasto for entree and my husband said to the waiter have we ordered too much to which the waiter replied no not enough maybe some focaccia. But what about my wife says my husband to which the waiter replied we do gluten free bread. When the bread came out (completely unnecessary being the view of the table) my family was served with mile high focaccia and I with a piece of white sliced from the supermarket which had been grilled with no condiment as opposed the the focaccia everyone else was served. The table was shocked and the gluten free white slice was sent back to the kitchen. I happily don’t have bread at restaurants because gf bread is usually very ordinary. We were induced to order bread because the restaurant had an equivalent gf option to wheat based focaccia available, it did not. The whole table felt like we had been subject to a misrepresentation all of us expecting that I would be served some equivalent gf to the focaccia. The short story - beware of waiters offering gluten free bread! The focaccia was $16 they did not charge us for the gf white slice.

Used to work at stokehouse, so I know the it's and outs of the place.
Main concerns when you go there is the attitude of the head chef Jason, said "we don't cater to allergies and it's not his priority to do so" there were some "gluten free alternatives" but most of the time they'll leave you feeling bloated with whole body aches and strapped to the toilet.
Pricing is way to expensive for the portion sizings you get and the alchohol is egregiously overpriced too. You always get asked for tips at the end of your "experience" which majority always goes to the managers and not the workers.
10/10 would never go again.

The staff were great at talking through my options on the shared menu and providing alternatives where needed. Made a big group dinner much less stressful and the food was delicious!
Yes
Only a couple of things on the menu contain gluten and they are the obvious culprits - pasta, battered fish etc. The staff were very helpful and guided me through the menu. Just watch for the chips that are cooked in a shared fryer. Food was incredible π
