This restaurant has recently been taken under new ownership. We had a wonderful experience!
For anyone with a gluten sensitivity, I would highly recommend it!
Chicken Pesto (All Natural Chicken)
Signature sauce, mozzarella/provolone blend, all-natural oven-roasted chicken, goat cheese; drizzled with our house-made pesto is amazing!
This _used_ to be my go-to place for GF pizza, but no more. I had enjoyed the GF pepperoni pizza (with no ill effects) for several years. However, the last three times I got the GF pizza I was severely ill within a couple hours. The most recent time I made a point of asking on the web order form to make sure it was GF, and the counter man verified it was GF when I asked at pickup. Same bad result. Either they have a severe cross-contamination problem or the employees don't know or care about providing a real GF crust. My wife said my "GF" crust looked identical to her multigrain crust.
I have celiac and am 24 weeks pregnant. Had a gf pizza here last night and got extremely sick. Confirmed it was the gf pizza but they must have significant cross contamination. It was the sickest I’ve been in years. To top it off, the pizza was also not very good
The servers are knowledgeable about gluten free. There are many options for toppings, which is great! We have not had a problem with the GF pizza here. The crust is very thin and crispy. It’s not the best, but it is OK, and better than some other area GF pizza options. There are plenty of options if you can’t have cheese! Our favorite sauce is white bean sauce - so yummy!
Do not get the pasta it is not GF and will make you feel terrible. I've had it 3 times as I was originally battling some other conditions and thought it might be a byproduct of that. But now that the only thing I worry about is gluten (celiac) I can assure you that their supposedly GF pasta is not actually GF.
So very worth it. I would wait all day for a table at Stone Hearth
got a salad for lunch. it was delicious and only $10 for what I'd consider to be 2 servings worth. I also have a ton of allergies and didn't get sick, so that was nice.
I have eaten at Stonehearth many many times and have never gotten sick. They are very careful, especially when you are state that you have a severe allergy. I will say, however, that their pizza is probably the worst gluten free pizza I've ever had. It's thin and cardboardy and falls apart after the first bite. They have great pasta and salads though! Definitely recommend for anyone with celiac.
So sad this location has closed!! An Upper Crust pizzeria is opening in its place, but their GF pizza is not celiac safe!
