- A designated gluten free section makes it easier to find with natural and organic products - Gluten-free tags on hundreds of products across the entire store, including snacks, meals and ingredients you need to cook a gluten-free meal from scratch
This for the Stop and Shop in Vernon CT. This used to be a great place to get GF products. Everything was located in one dedicated section and the selection was extensive. Someone in management decided to scrap this concept. I asked the manager (on 6/18/18) why and he said it was a decision from "corporate" so this may be coming to all of the chain! Now everything (except the frozen goods) is mixed in with the non GF food and as best as I could tell the amount of GF is considerably less. For example, I looked for Snyder's GF pretzels. There dozens of non GF and only one GF. The frozen GF is separate but the selection is 1/3 of what it used to be. SO YESTERDAY WAS THE LAST DAY I WILL GO INTO THE STORE. Not just for GF but for anything else.
Recently moved to the area, had always shopped at the Stop and Shop on Fenn Road in Newington and they carried more certified GF then I could dream of, possibly because of competing with Whole Foods. Naturally I brought my business to this old Saybrook Stop and Shop when I moved and it’s lack luster to say the least. Sure they have a selection, but it’s no where near as great as Central Connecticut.
Great place to shop for gluten free food. All meats in the deli department are Gluten Free!! There is a small area to the side of the produce department that has tons of gluten free products - reasonably priced.
this is my gluten free go to supermarket. plenty of options in gluten free section and throughout store at reasonable prices and many specials at times.
Lots of GF options and folks at the deli counter are pretty helpful.
Has a decent selection of GF items.
There is a special aisle with many organic and gluten free options. They also have a special freezer and refrigerator section with harder to find items such as gluten free pie crust and donuts!
They have a few options including Against the Grain gluten free pizza which is really good.
I've been shopping here for years and have Celiacs. Their organic section is great for a grocery store and they have a good variety of gluten free foods - a bit cheaper than the organic stores. Their deli meats are ALL gluten free!
tons of gluten free options!
They have a lot of gf options. I really like this store but it gets difficult in the summer, with all the tourists and seasonal people the shelves are often wiped clean of the usual stuff I buy. Whenever I do see what I want I end up buying 3 or 4 of them because I never know when I will get it again
Small section is dedicated to gluten-free (as well as vegan, dairy-free, and organic frozen, canned, and boxed foods). I have found some great tasting frozen foods and snack foods here.
Decent selection, but the other day I went in and everyone was rude as f*ck. Semi-related: their "Starbucks" is the worst excuse for a Starbucks I have ever seen. They are consistently nasty and bring people in from other areas of the store who don't know any of the drinks. Come on, guys! Ugh
There wasn't even a selection of gluten-free options in the freezer section. If you wander the whole store, you eventually run into a few products that are gluten-free, but it hardly seems worthy of a mention here!
A wide variety of natural & organic gluten free products found in one place (aisle 4). They also offer a little shelf tag to identify GF labeled foods which makes it so much easier to shop. Their brand Nature's Promise has tasty offerings! This store is where the corporate nutritionists office is so you can meet with her or just stop by with a question.
Haven't been in town for a few months, but last I was at this stop and shop it had a great GF selection!
