Ordered four everything bagels as a result of the reviews here, as I have celiac disease. I paid about $2.50 each. Somewhat expensive, but I was desperate for a bagel. The bagels were gross, typical for most bread products. I could not finish it, horrible taste and extremely heavy. All of them were thrown in my garbage.
Sorry to say but this establishment DOES NOT know how to prepare a celiacs bagel I had a young lady look at me crosseyed when I asked her to change her gloves then I saw her go up to a plate and eat a bagel with the “clean” gloves and when I asked her to change them again (she denied eating it, said it was with a wrapper, I was sitting right there and I saw what she did!) I noticed she was putting my bagel on the toaster with all the gluten crumbs! They had a GF toaster. I know that she did not change my bagel yet gave me the one that’s been contaminated. She and her coworkers were looking straight at me and pointing. Anyways I WAS contaminated and had severe reflux all night. Shame they really don’t care, or the kids are just not trained properly I should have spoken to a manager but I was already flustered and just left. Very disappointed and I would NOT recommend this place for Celiacs
They have family who is celiac and are very knowledgeable of cross contamination. Great bagels! Made from no gluten kneaded.
I ordered a gluten free everything bagel with cream cheese. I asked the girl behind the counter to be careful of cross-contamination. The bagel was frozen. They toasted it in a separate smaller toaster. The serve seemed to be careful. There were crumbs on the counter, which made me nervous, but she used a liner before placing the bagel down. I didn’t get sick.
The gluten free bagels are wrapped and have been safe. I do not let them butter, due to cross contamination. EVERYTHING else is subject to cross contamination. If you are very sensitive, be VERY careful. I got a Bacon, egg, cheese on a GF wrap and was ill for 3 days. It might have been the home fries, but something was contaminated. Hey, it's a bagel shop!! Buyer be careful.
Excited to find this bagel shop right near my in-laws house! They made me a bacon, egg and cheese on a gluten free bagel. It was labeled as an everything bagel but it tasted like mostly poppy seed. I got a sesame seed one for tomorrow morning! My husband said they had it stored separately and did everything properly to prepare it gluten free. It was wrapped and cut and served in a container with home fries. The only thing I would say it needed was to be buttered and toasted longer which we all know helps gluten free products! I will definitely go back!
