12/2024: third time here, super safe, and the food is absolutely delicious, my husband who is a gluten eater also loves it here 6/2024: 10/10! I let the server know of “gluten allergy” when ordering watermelon salad and shrimp & grits. After ordering the manager came over and asked if the gluten allergy was celiac, and when I said, yes, she said that the shrimp would be cooked separately, not on the shared grill to avoid cross contamination. Food was phenomenal, menu noted with red dot: GFO available and a GF next to naturally GF dishes. Had lunch the next day. Crabcake sandwich so good, and potato salad is so weird but SO good!
I’m absolutely obsessed with the maple, goat cheese salad!! I got chicken on the side which they cooked separately. I also ordered the spicy salmon roll. The spicy mayo is gluten-free. I triple checked. I ordered to go and they still ask questions to made sure everything was safe. They also offered a gluten-free soy sauce.
I felt like my meal was a good value, and the service was very good. All the sides, except the french fries, are gluten-free. I had the fresh halibut, grilled, with the street corn side salad and green beans which was the vegetable of the day. Someone came out to talk with me about what I ordered and to reassure me about the safety. I would definitely come here again! I thought the prices were reasonable and did not give it four dollar signs.
My family and I all ate here (15) of us on a Thursday night. I have Celiac and decided to try this place. My shrimp and grits were amazing. I did not have any stomach issues. We had a late reservation (8:00). Unfortunately, they ran out of a view items on the menu. Next time, we will try to go earlier. They did have a great menu.
No separate GF menu, but items are clearly marked on the regular menu. However, be aware that any fried items marked gf are NOT in a separate fryer. We initially ordered nachos but were told not to get them if it was a “true allergy”. I ordered the crab bisque and shrimp & grits which were both excellent. Server was very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was great! We will return for sure.
Ken our waiter was willing to ask the questions I needed answered. I'm also dairy free. The sides were not marked as gluten free but when the waiter inquired to the kitchen all but the fries were safe. Rockfish blackened with blueberry reduction was a delicious combo of sweet and spicy. They did upcharge me to substitute veg of day for the cheddar mashed it came with. My husbands mussels disappeared quickly and the scallops had a nice complexity. Happy stomachs and lack of headaches are always the truth detector for us and both husband and I fared well. The outside patio will be great when weather is warmer. It's bit noisy of a space. My personal preference would be to get rid of tvs in the dining room, but they at least we're muted. Lots of locals at this time of year. We will return.
