I was extremely disappointed with my experience here. On Google, it says the opening hours are 10am-2pm from Tuesday to Friday, with extra hours on Friday and Saturday. I arrived at around 12pm on Tuesday and tried again at 10am on Wednesday and the stall was completely shut. I contacted the business via WhatsApp (in Spanish) and was told (in English) that they would only be open on Friday and Saturday this week, at completely different times than advertised online. I went again on Friday at 10:30am and the shelves were very bare, with some tired-looking cakes and no savoury products. The owner was kneading dough through in the kitchen so I assumed more products would be available later in the day. I wanted to inquire about this, so I politely asked the owner if he spoke English (because my Spanish is very basic), to which he replied “yes, but you’re in Spain” in an extremely rude tone of voice. I completely understand that it may have been inconvenient for him to speak in English instead of Spanish, but as a customer, I thought he would be a little more willing to help me. By his own admission, he spoke English, so why not make things easier for both of us, instead of me struggling to say what I meant and him struggling to understand me? I walked away without purchasing anything because he had made me feel so belittled and upset. This was my only experience like this during my trip to Madrid. Travelling with coeliac disease is already challenging and stressful - we don’t need rude and unhelpful vendors on top of everything else. I would strongly advise you against visiting - there are plenty of gluten free bakeries in Madrid with a greater variety of nicer-looking food and much more kind, welcoming and helpful staff. 0% Gluten, for example, was a great bakery/cafe with a much wider selection and much nicer staff.
