Surf N Turf Tacos

This is a small take out place with a long line. We ordered salad bowls and rice bowls with beans, meat, guacamole, salsa. There were no gluten free tortillas available. I read the other review that this was not safe for celiacs, but we did not eat any tortillas. My son is gluten intolerant, not celiacs, so we were super happy with this place, probably the best Mexican food we've had outside of California and Mexico.

I read the previous review and decided to check this out. This is a quick hole in the wall with limited seating, but that’s not a bad thing. I said ‘I heard you can do gf tacos’ and he said ‘yes, did you hear about us on the app’ (The first review was made 2 days ago) Unlike the other reviewer, I didn’t feel comfortable here. They warm up the corn tortillas on the same warmer as flour tortillas. They didn’t use foil at any point. The rice had bits and pieces of other things like meat. They didn’t change gloves and all of the utensils touch both flour and corn tortillas (you watch them make your food). I’ll see if I get sick in a couple hours...Not recommended.

Celiac friendly?

For a place that wasn’t listed on the app I was pretty skeptical, but their staff was very friendly and, more importantly, helpful in working with me to make sure I could eat with my girlfriend who was already going to eat here (she is not GF). While not having a dedicated grill, they wrapped the corn tortillas in foil to ensure there were no cross-contamination issues. Would absolutely recommend and will likely return for more!
