I called ahead asking if they can accommodate gluten free. Gentleman said yes and encouraged me to come in to discuss as they don’t have a GF menu. So I went in and tried to order. The first girl I spoke to there suggested a sushi roll with tempura, clearly not knowledgeable on GF. Then another girl came over to help and encouraged me to pick what I wanted then the chef could tell me what he could make. It was busy and I eventually became frustrated with time spent going back and forth trying to build a meal this way so left without ordering. I would not consider Sushi Maru gluten friendly due to the combined fact that there is no GF menu and at least two of the serving staff are unsure what gluten is. Scary.
