They didn’t have the GF menu anymore (I don’t think their rice is GF because of the wheat based vinegar, so maybe they didn’t realise this before? No idea as my Japanese wasn’t good enough to ask). Only a few GF options but the hida beef I had was yum and I felt like my server was confident regarding my options. I lived on hida beef in Takayama. Very popular place that you can’t book. We turned up 15 mins before opening and the queue was already quite long.

Hida beef, melt in your mouth. Gluten free menu available here, and the cook brought the gf shouyu to present at table to guarantee it was really gluten free :)
