This place is the absolute best! Might not be the most celiac friendly, but very considerate and inclusive!!! I found this place a little over a year ago and I have become a regular! It's so refreshing having options for baked goods, candy bars, and all kinds of meals!! 🥰 plus it's vegan so if you're also DF like me.... this place is for you
This is a wonderful little spot but they’re trying to get out the word that NONE of their bistro food is celiac safe, even the ones with a gf option. The cashier was kind enough to refuse to take my order, explaining that the kitchen is too small and not safe for allergies. But the gluten free bake shop items (all individually packaged) and all the house made candy is celiac safe. I’m grateful they were so careful to explain it all to me, even though I was disappointed! The gluten free key lime pie and Better Than (Snickers) bar were both safe and delicious.
Amazing gluten free bread, burritos, and candy bars. I ate at the cafe/bistro and didn’t get sick after. The bread and tortilla used for the sandwich and burrito were the best I’ve ever had. They are mindful of cross contamination in the kitchen. They warned me the fryer is shared, so I didn’t get fried things. But there are so many options. My favorite dish was their plant-based bacon, cheese, and egg sandwich. The candy bars were awesome as well and all gluten-free.
They have the best vegan and gluten-free food here! I am a vegan Celiac, so I was in heaven. The BLTA was delicious, as well as the breakfast burrito! The vegan bacon tasted just like bacon! Their gluten-free candy bars were to die for! They were even better than the originals. It was so amazing being able to taste candy bars again. She said the candy bars and bakery were safe from cross contamination. The fryer is shared, so not safe for Celiacs, but there are so many other amazing options free from cross contamination. This might just be my new favorite spot! The owner was also so sweet and spent a while talking with us to help us get what we wanted.
Sadly, the bistro is no longer safe for celiac sufferers. They had a dedicated space in the kitchen, but had to give it up because it was causing the business to lose money. There is a gluten-free part of their menu, but it is not safe as there is cross-contamination all around the kitchen. Such a bummer.
However, they have a grab and go area that has a great many celiac safe items! I bought several, and they have all been awesome . A couple frozen dinners, the best gluten-free bread I’ve ever had, some yummy candy and sweet treats, vegan cheeses, etc.
Everything I have tried so far has been a delight. Just don’t order anything from the bistro!
Got the avocado toast and was delicious. Didn’t get any baked goods but all looked amazing.
This place is AMAZING!!! I mean seriously not only is this good gluten free food but my non-celiac friends said their food was some of the best they’d had in Salt Lake. The staff are very well trained and the chef personally came out to tell us about their procedures, what was safe, what wasn’t, and what was in the food. She talked about how she trained her staff too. She got it.
You seriously can’t tell the difference between this and non-vegan food, and with so much of the menu available gluten free (they do have non-GF items) this place is a celiac’s paradise. They also make a lot of their sweets gluten free and individually wrapped for safety
You have to try this place. I got a garlic mushroom Swiss burger (beyond beef), salad, better than sex cake, millionaire bar, and peanut butter cups. Lots of other options
