My mom and I shared the pear salad and a turkey Ruben wrap, along with a surprise gf carrot cupcake! Everything was AMAZING and safe. Dedicated fryer for the tots & hand cut fries, gluten free bread, buns and wraps are available. Waitress said most things can be made gluten free
Great place to eat for GF meals. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the fryers and keeping food separate. They had bread that looked and tasted like bread. It was a relief knowing the kitchen was attuned to my dietary restrictions.
Very excited to be traveling through Utica and finding this gem. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was done with gf chicken tenders and a gf wrap. They also accommodated us with them loaded fries making them gf. They have a separate fryer. My daughter got the gf chicken tenders. Everything was delicious.
The best GF bun I have ever had! Actually had flavor. It’s didn’t crumble into tiny pieces like usual. Server was very well informed of options, risk of cross contamination, etc. He stated almost everything on the menu can be made GF with a few modifications. Highly recommend!
Tried the hand tossed gf pizza and New York style gf pizza, both not good. They were barely cooked and very chalky. But got the gf chicken fingers and they were sooooooo good!!!
Another person with CD recommended Swifty’s and I have eaten there several times. They have a designated fryer so you can enjoy the items that are usually off limits like chicken wings and fries. There GF bread and Pizza crust are both good and the wait staff is familiar with food safety for CD. I’ve never felt ill after eating here and for me that is very rare.
I had a great experience at this place last week. We were traveling from Iowa to Cape Cod with a group and found this pub on the Find Me GF app. I had chicken wings and fries....a treat! I can’t get that anywhere at home. It was delicious and I felt fine after. The waitress made a point to bring out my food separately, confirm the gf status, and boxed leftovers separately too.
They claim to understand GF, but this is the second time I got glutened there. I was there 2 years ago and got sick. Thought that maybe it was a fluke. We tried again last week and got glutened again. The food, service, and price was all good, but if you have celiac don’t go. They couldn’t even get a Cobb salad correct which is naturally GF. Too bad because otherwise we liked it. Just isn’t worth the risk.
A friend mentioned this restaurant as a safe place for me to eat. We tried it today. They are very knowledgeable about gf. They have a dedicated fryer. The menu isn’t laid out as gf, but many items are gf or can be made gf. Will definitely eat here again!
This was my first time eating out since my Celiac diagnosis. I read the reviews here and then called the restaurant. They said they don't have special separate equipment, nor do they have a gf specific menu. However, if it's something that is fried they have a separate pot they put new oil into and use that. Just about anything could be made gluten free, and they had options for things that come on regular bread rolls etc. I mentioned to the waitress I have Celiacs and she was like oh yeah that's fine! We get that a lot! The owners daughter has Celiac so they know what they need to do! Food tastes amazing, awesome customer service! Thank you!
was ok. not great food they were out of wraps and the gluten free bread was pretty dry. it was dinner but I wouldnt go back. not overall sick from it but don't feel great that's for sure.
Very knowledgeable staff. Had separate oil to fry my order-to avoid cross contamination. Great selection of gf items.
Great burger! Would have given 5 stars, but 1) waitress (again) was unknowable and 2) third time we've been there in 2 years and even though pizza is on the menu, it's ALWAYS out of stock.
I stopped with my family while traveling and I'm so glad we stopped. The food was great, and each of us could order what we wanted -- from GF pizza to burgers, sandwiches and salads. The service was also good and we enjoyed the experience. The staff seemed GF aware and none of us had any issues.
Great understanding, took special care. Made gf fries in a individual pot. Chicken fingers are great that they are offered but taste like they are freezer Tyson chicken fingers. Will go back to try the other options, but wasn't overly impressed with the chicken fingers. Impressed with the service and understanding.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable, familiar with Celiac Disease. They have gluten free bread, so you can get any of the sandwiches gluten free. They even heated separate oil in the kitchen to make fries for me. First time any restaurant has done that for my. The food is also very good. Highly recommended this restaurant.
The waitress was so knowledgeable and knew exactly what was safe to eat and what wasn't. The chips are fried in fresh oil each morning so they are safe!
Good food. Some gluten free options. Gluten free beer and hard cider. Very affordable and nice atmosphere. Wait staff very knowledgeable and helpful about gluten free.
MOST RECENT VISIT:
Gluten free wraps have improved and the server was very knowledgeable about GF. She clarified whether I was actually GF or just preferred to eat that way. My wrap was not cooked the way I wanted and they offered to cook it again, but I just wanted to eat. They offered a gluten free dessert instead - a mango creamsicle thing. It was gross.
food was good quality. server was knowledgeable but checked with the chef if she wasn't sure. they had gf bread but not buns. the map on this app takes you to the wrong place for the utica location.
Scallop wrapped bacon was so juicy and delicious. Hubby had fried brie (not GF) which was to die for. The GF shepherds pie made with lamb and beef ws smothered in cheese and excellent. The waitress was very attentive and explained that since most everything is made fresh they can make modify a dish to suit you.
They have gluten free bread and wraps on hand so I was able to get any sandwich I wanted, which I loved. I originally ordered a wrap and the waitress warned me that they did not wrap well (I have the same problem with the ones I buy at the store breaking apart) so I switched to GF bread and it was delicious!
Great gf pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and amazing gf chicken tenders!!!
