My usual go-to for GF Chinese food. Usually don’t have an issue, however the last time I ordered I got my usual dish and got VERY sick even though it was labeled gluten free. Now I’m not so sure about it and don’t think I’ll find myself willing to pay their prices again to gamble with feeling ok or getting sick.
WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC! This place used to be wonderful never had an issue but lately the cooks have not been careful! I got so glutenated. They are NO longer careful they tell you they're careful but they are not there has been times when I found other food mixed in my food this place is not safe for allergies! Last night so sick and through out today....Cross-contamination all over the place they will tell you they clean their pans and change stuff but they actually don't. Because if they did I would not find other food mixed in my rice. As well as things I did not order in our food. This is a nightmare! I have not be this sick since before I was diagnosed. This is heartbreaking and I hate Changing my review I would not want anyone else to have to go through this!!!
I ordered the chicken honey cashew (gf) over the weekend and unfortunately had a reaction as if i had been glutened. My meal was marked gluten-free and the staff at the counter assured me about all of precautions that are taken and i confirmed the sauce on my food was gluten free prior to leaving with my food. But the reaction my body had and the symptoms i have had the last four days days otherwise. Would not recommend if you are celiac.
Best gluten free Chinese food I’ve had! They make most of my typical favorite main dishes gf (sesame chicken, fried rice, mei fun). My family eats a lot of Chinese food and does not need to be Gluten free but specifically asks for this restaurant when they’re in town.
My daughter got sick after eating here. Not 100% sure it was their food but the symptoms were pretty consistent w her getting gluten. Bummed bc everyone gave them such high ratings. I did call and let them know just so they could review ingredients and procedures and they were very nice about it.
Ordered the sesame chicken. I used to get this all the time before being gluten free and my dish tasted very similar. This place is very good with gluten allergies. The person taking my order marked gluten allergy and said they prepare in a separate area. My food came labeled with a gf sticker and was wrapped in a plastic bag away from my family’s gluten dishes. Great option for all gf and celiac people
Best Chinese food I've ever had!
The food is wonderful and never disappoints.
They have a wide range of gluten free options that I have not been able to eat in years!
I have a Nima gluten free sensor I use to double check my food for gluten and I'm happy to say everything I had was 100% gluten free.
My favorites are the szechuan chicken, General Tso chickens, and chicken and broccoli.
The service is always super friendly and very accommodating!
The food was great! My Chinese mom who never asks to go back to a restaurant, told me she wants me to bring her back to T S Ma's! The menu is clearly marked with GF icons and I was pleasantly surprised to see how many items I could order because they have GF sauces or adapt the dish. Everyone was really nice and most importantly, I didn't have any GI issues after eating there. Random: the bathroom is really clean and nice; I saw them go in to sweep after every few customers.
Awesome selection of gluten free options! Ordered delivery and the staff member who took my order over the phone was extremely helpful with what items are available to be made gluten free and what items are normally gluten free. He carefully double checked my order to make sure the correct items were gluten free. Non gf brother who regularly enjoys non gf Chinese food raved about how delicious the food was and how everything wasn’t as heavy and greasy as the Chinese he normally orders.
I thought I’d have to give up Chinese cuisine when I had to go gluten-free. Not so!! The gluten free dishes we had were comparable to the best traditional Chinese restaurants. Give yourself a treat and visit TS Ma....super friendly and helpful staff.
I got really sick after eating here and tested my food for gluten with my Nima sensor the next morning and everything came back cross contaminated (low gluten level). The owner assured me it was prepared separately and was guaranteed to be GF for celiacs prior to ordering, however, after telling them about my experience they changed their story to say they use a separate wok but everything else is shared. Since then, they took my suggestion to specify on the menu they offer GF options but it's in a shared space so they can't guarantee it's free from cross contamination which I was happy with. Hopefully it prevents someone else getting sick the way I did. food tasted great but cross contaminated.
Finally, a Chinese restaurant with lots of gluten-free options clearly marked on the menu! I had some difficulty understanding my server, but she reached out to another employee and I made my gluten-free needs known. I really didn't believe that I wouldn't get sick, but I did not!The food was delicious! We will be back!
It's great that they clearly identify an assortment of gluten free options on their menu. That makes it convenient. Hubby and I have enjoyed a lot of great Chinese food over the years. The food here is good.....not Great. I will eat here again....just not very impressed. Perhaps I will be impressed when I try more items on the menu. Updating my review to 4 stars from 3 to remind myself that this place has done well on subsequent visits. Great option for us for when we don't want to make the trek to Englishtown for Chinese food.
They gave us non gluten free food two times. My son caught that the color was off on our dish. Turns out it wasn't gluten free. They label the containers gluten free and this wasn't labeled. Another time we didn't catch it and I was ill for 3 days. Since there aren't many Chinese gf places, I've gone back- no more issues since.
Gluten free general tsos is amazing! But don't do take out, it's not nearly as good.
UPDATE: just found a (wheat) lo mein noodle in our GF take out. Called the restaurant. They said sorry, but didn't seem to take it that seriously. Also previously found meat in our veggie dish, so clearly they aren't washing pans/utensils between dishes. Won't go back.
Consistently good & safe. Tofu w/veggies in garlic & ginger is really excellent. Staff is friendly & helpful.
Ate at this cute little restaurant last night. Made a 7 pm reservation and was seated immediately. Our granddaughter was with us and had been craving Chinese food but has celiac so it had to be gluten free. This menu was awesome with a good assortment of gluten free choices. The food was excellent. Sesame chicken, beginning fried rice, tofu and dumplings were all good.
It's very unusual to find gluten free Chinese food.
We had a great time and the owner was very attentive to our requests. Will definitly return
So great to be able to have classic Chinese food. Very good. Friendly nice staff
So nice to find a healthy Chinese restaurant that has a good selection of gluten-free items. Veggies are fresh, not canned. Restaurant uses gluten-free soy sauce upon request for their fairly extensive GF items. Best of all, it actual tastes good!
