We had the best experience here as a newly celiac household. I was a bit concerned by the lack of an obvious gluten free menu, but our dietician recommended it based on personal experience eating here.
Our waiter explained the wheat symbol on the menu indicated that an item could be made gluten free, and we discussed the sushi, sashimi, and rolls with him as well.
My meal was purposefully not gluten free (I have to continue eating some gluten every day until my blood test). My husband's was entirely gluten free. They also brought him a bottle of the San J gluten free tamari to go with his meal.
Ordered fried rice with gluten free soy sauce. Was served with regular soy sauce and got very sick. Will not be eating there again.
Ordered curbside pickup paid 1.00 extra for gluten free items. Couldn't get anyone to answer the phone so ordered online. When I picked up my order they told me only 1 of the 4 items were gluten free. They should have called to let me know. It did not leave much to eat when I was expecting to be able to eat it all. Very disappointed. Should be easy enough to use gf soy sauce and open up alot of options.
Portions were very small for the price.
I've been going here for years ordering the eel avocado roll and told it was gf. Was just informed it isn't.This is an updated review and 3 months later I find out the same thing has been happening with the egg drop soup. I assume whenever I eat chinese I will get a little bloated. As with most celiacs, the damage is mostly internal in additional to physical pains. So I can't imagine the damage that has been done because of this restaurant that is so ignorant about their own menu. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
Allergen list is lengthy which is great. The food is really fantastic and the sushi is fresh and delicious. Great atmosphere. I got the fried rice and did not have a reaction, so I recommend this restaurant overall.
