Tacos El Chilango

I'd give it 5 stars for their GF menu alone. However I found their their variety of food to be too limited. If it wasn't authentic Mexican I would of gave it a lower review but the food they do have is full of flavor (tons of cilantro tho). There's no lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream here..primariliy cheese, salsa, onions. The guacamole is good, chips are fresh.

Everything is gluten free. Everything. Is. Gluten. Free. And it’s delicious. Finally a place I can go grab tacos and not worry about frying cross contact issues!

There’s a few small tables and it’s very casual. Good for takeout as well.

I had zero digestive symptoms after eating here!

Now this is a great taco place. Just a block off of U street it's a great place to stop for a bite before a show or while your drinking. It's feels incredibly authentic and the food is absolutely delicious. 3 tacos for $9 is about standard in DC and is far more worth it here. They use corn tortillas and are inherently gluten free. I tried the chicken, steak, and al pastor tacos. They were excellent and I wish I had ordered more. The guac is fresh made and variably spicy, depending on how you like it. Their brick-and-mortar location is just a little house so it feels incredibly comfortable and is very inviting. I'll certainly be going back in time for my next show at Black Cat if not sooner. I definitely recommend everyone. tl;dr - delicious authentic tacos. Try the steak, chicken, al pastor, and guac. Very inviting and friendly staff. I will definitely go again.
