TLDR: Fried in same fryer as gluten donuts so not actually gluten free.
Longer version: Someone purchased these donuts, which were labeled gluten free, but I called the store to ask some questions before eating one.
When I called, the woman I spoke to didn't even offer up the information about the fryer until I specifically asked. Before I asked, she was trying to sell me on coming to the store to buy some without any mention of cross contamination; she said that they had some on hand because their recipe makes over 2 dozen and only 1 dozen had been special ordered (the dozen that I'm glad I didn't partake in without asking questions first!).
So they are selling donuts labeled gluten free and not telling people that they're all cooked in the same oil as their gluten donuts. This is incredibly irresponsible, not to mention unkind to patrons who will get very sick.
