The staff were really friendly and answered all my questions. Chips are fried in dedicates fryer. A lot of their dishes are gf. I had carne asada tacos with rice and beans, and my gf daughter had a tamale from the kids menu with beans. No reaction and had plenty of food!

Tamale was devoid of taste. Full sized salad was the size of a small side salad. Disappointed.
Delicious and fresh safe food to eat!!
Wanted to share that we took a rare moment of risk and tried the Tamale Factory in Durham this week. Was tasty and so far so good, for a celiac. We spoke with the cook directly and she initially stated they had no gluten in the restaurant and thus were safe. However, when questioned she remembered there were bread crumbs in the mole, so not quite. It seemed she was thinking about flour and they also have flour tortillas. She was definitely approachable and wanted to do the right thing. It did seem like most of the menu was ok and no sickness after eating carne asada, grilled poblano peppers, beans and rice, chips and dips ...would return again.
Most of the menu is GF, they indicated to make server aware of CD/allergy when placing order to be sure extra precaution taken on meal prep to avoid cross contamination. Lots of vegetarian options as well.
Had variety of tamales and tacos, all excellent, will definitely be back.
