Great experience. They used GF soy sauce for the whole table. Our family loved it.
Noted celiac when making reservation, said it again to waiter and to chef preparing meal infront of us. He ended us using gluten free soy sauce for whole table, but when the time came for teriyaki sauce he said he wasn't sure of gluten free. I asked him to confirm, and turned out it was not gluten-free. Then ended up making my daughter's dish in the back, was dry and not great. Miso soup is not gluten-free either and she had to miss out on a few meal courses... no discount given. We had high hopes... unfortunately i would not recommend, unless you keep asking and confirm and tripple checking with everyone that handles the food. For price point that starts at $37 for hibachi this was a disappointment.
They offer gluten free soy sauce to make your meal. The chef used the gluten free soy sauce for the whole table to avoid contamination. I couldn’t have any of the sauces or salad dressing, but they had yum yum sauce as a gf substitute. I felt safe eating here but other than the steak and ice cream, the food was bland and overpriced. Our chef had no energy and the experience was not worth the exorbitant price of the food. Ok spot for gf food for a hungry tourist but I wouldn’t return.
I haven’t been able to have a full hibachi meal since I’ve been diagnosed with celiac disease. This place was amazing! Not only was the food delicious, the care they took to keep me safe from gluten exposure and cross contamination was superb. I am very sensitive with cross-contamination and I had absolutely no symptoms after eating here. I would highly recommend this place!
So very accommodating to gf. We shared our hibachi table with another family, and the chef used gf soy sauce for everyone, keeping the meal safe and fun for my son. He has been to hibachi restaurants that cooked his meal separately in the back, so this was a treat for him to get to watch his meal get cooked like the rest of us.
Hibachi Japanese and they totally catered to my celiac’s. They used gluten-free soy sauce for the whole table. I got a gluten free sauce for my salad and for dipping. It was delicious. The waiter was constantly telling me what was and wasn’t gluten free. The service was great and food was amazing.
So happy to find a Japanese hibachi restaurant that is so sensitive to the needs of my celiac daughter, as well as another vegetarian daughter! The staff was very good about letting us know which parts of the meal were not gluten-free. So no miso soup or pickled eggplant for her. The salad dressing was not gluten free so they brought out a small sauce bowl with GF soy sauce, one with sesame oil, and another with lemon wedges so she could create her own Asian dressing.
They did not recommend the chicken for gluten free, but the steak and shrimp were fine. Our hibachi chef Chris was fantastic, friendly, and also sensitive to all the dietary needs. He used gluten free soy sauce at the hibachi table for all the meals. And he cooked all the vegetarian items first so that they would not get contaminated with the meat. They offered tofu “steaks” for the vegetarians (basically large slabs of tofu), which was great! At most places, it’s just veggies. And before adding each item to the grill (butter, garlic, eggs, etc), he checked with each of us to make sure it was fine for us and within our diets.
Our server Cody was very attentive and informed us of the gluten content or gluten-free content of each item he brought to us, and always made sure our drinks were refilled.
With covid precautions, our party of five was seated by ourselves without any other small group, so we did not have to worry about sharing close space with another unknown family of unknown covid status. And the staff all wore masks, as do the guests on entering and exiting.
We felt very safe dining here, the service was top-notch, and the food was delicious! Be sure to make a reservation because it fills up!
