This is an EXCELLENT, yet unassuming and affordable family owned restaurant! We stopped here driving from Harlingen to San Antonio because they had gluten-free items and loved it so much, we stopped on our drive back as well. The al pastor dish was incredibly flavorful - we had it both times. It comes with the marinated chicken and pork, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and a side bowl of charro beans. The chips & salsa were very good, as was the enchiladas verde with chicken. We also loved the refried beans and their homemade guacamole. Their menu is quite extensive, too. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone - and especially gluten-sensitive people. We will be back again next time we make the drive. Friendly service and a lot of "regulars", which tells you they've got a good thing going. Mention you have a gluten allergy before ordering and you should be fine. (March 2024)

I eat here once a year while traveling. I stick with Fujita or tamales. I do not eat the chips.

Very good - corn tortillas, hard and soft shells are great. Plenty of options for gluten free meals.
