Food was so so and greasy ☹️ I got sick that day so I think there was cross-contamination
Celiacs beware—when I asked they told me their cheese is not gluten free as is cooked in beer. They told me the chicken is also cooked in beer. Options were thus very limited for me—I could get the shrimp tacos but that was about it. Glad they could tell me what was gluten-free and what wasn’t, but disappointed in the lack of safe gluten-free options.
Several GF options and all are tasty.
The national taqueria is a nice spot. The atmosphere is very friendly and the food is great. Everything except the quesadilla and the fried fish is gluten free. It's like a better, but more expensive, Chipotle for small tacos. Located right off U street it's not a bad spot. I'll probably go again.tl;dr - good location. Good food. Would go again.
