A TRIP TO THE HAMPTON’S IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT STOPPING AT TATE’S BAKE SHOP

A few years back on a beautiful summer day, my husband, our twin daughters and I took a very relaxing ferry ride from New London, Connecticut to Orient Point to visit family in Long Island. Once docked, naturally the very first thing on all of our minds was food! We immediately checked our handy “Find Me GF” App for gluten free places to eat in the Hampton’s. Accordingly, the charming village of Southampton was the destination for gluten free food. Siri, without fault, navigated us there. We parked our car and excitedly strolled around the quaint village. Of course my girls and I loved checking out the exclusive shops and very inviting restaurants offering al fresco dining. Unfortunately it was very hard to pick a place to eat. It was a busy day and people were queuing out the doors of the “suggested” GF places to eat.

At that point we just wanted to get some sort of snack to hold us over. We remembered passing the cutest little place on our way and decided to check it out. Lo and behold it was Tate’s Bake Shop! Immediately we thought that it would be highly unlikely that they’d have anything gluten free. We were hungry, it was lunchtime and there was no line going out their door!

We ventured in and found things that were gluten free! Tate’s had gluten free cookie things and gluten free ice cream sandwich things! Our eyes grew wide open! I don’t think that my daughter had an ice cream sandwich since she was diagnosed with celiac disease. That afternoon we had the best lunch ever… scrumptious Tate’s Gluten Free Ice Cream Sandwiches and coffee!

When you visit Tate’s don’t forget to bring some gluten free cookies for the ferry ride home. Not only are Tate’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip cookies amazing but their Gluten Free Ginger Zinger cookies are to die for!
