When asked about gluten free I received quick answers. The cook heard my questions and changed his gloves immediately before handling any of my food. Staff was also very friendly - which you don’t always get after invasive questions!
They can make anything on the menu GF, so the selection is wide. They even changed gloves without me asking, which was awesome. The food was great!!
I have celiac while two of my friends have dairy allergies. The staff was unsure, the menu was unclear, and the orders were Incorrect. (things arriving on top of pita chips and sauces not specified as having gluten after I had asked if they did) and it wasn't until after we were eating that someone brought out the allergen guide. Suffice to say all 3 of us were sick
The only thing on the menu with gluten in it is the pitas. When I told them I was gluten free because of celiac, the cashier told everyone on the line to change their gloves. The menu is color coded for all kinds of allergies. There food is all made from scratch and they take allergies seriously. I saw another friend with celiac while I was here. Best of all the food is delicious!
I would definitely say it was gluten free friendly, but, not 100% sure it is celiac safe. The food was delicious though and the staff was well trained!
They don’t have a gluten free menu but can do modifications to most items on the menu. The chicken was cooked well, not dry but rather juicy and delicious. The tomato cucumber salad was light and refreshing. Best of all, I didn’t get sick. I will definitely go again when I’m in the area.
They don’t have a gluten free menu but the menu says to ask your server and they are very knowledgeable with what and how you should order. When the food was delivered to my table the fella who worked behind the counter came out and informed me that he had changed gloves and opened new packages of veggies and such. It’s a good place to eat.
As a celiac I have had good experience here. After a very rare experience where my salad had pita (they made a completely new salad for me), the manager requested that I ask the person taking the order to put on it that I have a food allergy when I request no pita. No problems since and I have never had a reaction to their food. Plus it's healthy and delicious!
Edit 2/25/18: Taziki’s no longer offers a gluten free menu. Eat here at your own risk! EXCELLENT food and equally excellent customer service. I've eaten here several times without any problems, and the staff know what they're doing. One time I ordered take-out and asked for the salmon to be gluten-free. I asked the person who rang up my order if they got the gluten-free part - he checked and there were pita chips in it. You'd think I'd take stars off for this, but the wonderful thing is that instead of just removing the pita chips like some other places would, he had the order completely remade. I have had absolutely zero problems here and highly recommend it.
This is a great location. Food was hot and fresh and tasty. The menu says to ask about GF options and when I did my server was most helpful. Basically they leave off the pita and cheese (I’m dairy free as well) on most of their options. I’m not celiac but have EoE. I can’t comment on cross contamination but with as knowledgeable as they were, I’d say it’s a good bet they’ll be sensitive to your needs if you make it known. I would eat here again.
They're very knowledgeable about telling what's safe and what contains ingredients that are not safe. Very delicious food! i had the Greek salad with lamb and it was huge and yummy. the service staff were friendly and more than happy to accommodate my needs :)
I have tried to eat here many many times, and really wanted to make it work. I even tried to go right at open, get really safe foods, etc. but if you are Celiac or very sensitive to wheat/gluten, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I've reacted terribly every time unfortunately, and I just don't think the employees know enough or have enough instruction on this to avoid it, not necessarily their fault.
Taziki’s used to promote itself as a gluten-free friendly chain, however the Mobile location is not. They do not have a GF menu. I ordered a Greek salad with no pita, which was printed on my receipt. Of course, my salad came out with several pieces of pita wedges inside. I sent it back, but no longer trusted the kitchen. Not celiac safe. Too bad.
This particular location of tazikis does a great job keeping me gluten free. I always get the shrimp feast with basmati rice and a salad. I beg them not to put the piece of pita on my plate and so far they have remembered. The kids feasts are also gluten free. My whole family enjoys this restaurant.
The staff seemed unsure of what was gluten free, which surprised me. I ordered a gluten free Greek salad with chicken and it was served to me with pita tucked underneath. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was there until I'd eaten half of the salad. When I asked for a new one they apologized and made a new one, which was great, but I'm disappointed they weren't more careful.
Chicken Mediterranean salad was very delicious! Dohlmas were also very good. Staff extremely helpful. Met the Marketing Director as we walked in. After having lengthy conversation with her, encouraged them to look into GF pita bread & told her about this app. She said about 90% of their menu is GF or can be made GF.
I have celiac and have had great luck. I live a mile away so I eat there a good bit. They don't have gluten free bread but they have whole meals that are inexpensive that don't require bread. I'm My favorite is the beef tenderloin feast just order it without the pita.
Boo! Requested no bread on my Greek salad. When I got home 30 minutes later opened the box to see a piece of pita bread laid on top of the salad. When I called the manager she said they "take care" of all allergies including tomatoes?! I will not be back! So disappointing!
