I would say this place is not Celiac friendly as I have gotten conflicting information regarding what is and is not GF on their menu. I was told the only sauce that is safe is the Carolina (vinegar-based) one. The brisket is supposed to be GF, but stay away from the ribs and pulled pork. They will tell you which sides are GF when you go inside, but they are all prepared ahead of time and there is no guarantee on cross contamination.

Most of the meats and sides are gf. Both barbecue sauces are not, however which for me was not a problem, but it might be for someone else.

I watched very carefully as they threw all of the meats onto a common plate to wave them so when it was my turn, I asked them to change gloves, use a clean plate. I watched the meat server, clean the knife, wash his hands, put on cleaning gloves, clean the prep, and cutting surfaces as well as get a new plate to weight of food on.

Staff pulled out a binder and looked through all of the side options to tell me which were gluten-free and dairy free.

I was told none of the sauce was GF, which really changes the whole experience of barbecue!

Wonderful bbq in a fun restaurant. They don’t have a gf menu, but the hostess wrote down what was gf...see photo! The pulled pork was fab.

Most of the meats are gluten free and the flavor is great but there are limited options for sides. In addition, and more importantly from our perspective, this is cross contamination waiting to happen - no glove changes, meat all throw on the same plate to weigh it, and incorrect information provided by staff. I am not sure why anyone would rate this safe for celiacs, but I think to get to that point you would have to do a lot of leg work before and during the ordering process and the staff was really not all that friendly or willing to accommodate so I not sure how anyone would accomplish that easily. It does not help that in addition to gluten issues we have pork issues, so perhaps those without that aspect would feel better (but even my kids were concerned).

The meat is the best. I don't know about the sauces, but think they may not be safe based on other reviews. However, that is not an issue for me as I find the meat is excellent naked. I'm not too crazy about the sides options so can't offer much there. Just give me a beef rib with some raw onion and a jalapeno, and I'm happy.

Spoke with the manager in depth and looked at the ingredient list for the potato salad, and everything sounded safe. The beans, coleslaw, baked potato, and corn are side options. He also said the Carolina sauce was gf. Need to check into the other meats to see why they aren't safe...can have the brisket, turkey, and rivs. The staff was incredibly helpful...will be back!

Brisket, ribs, and turkey are gluten free. Sauces are not. When you order, we can request that the meat is cut with a clean knife and they change their gloves before handling the meat. The meats are cooked in separate contained areas on the grill, so there should be no cross contamination. The only sides that are safe are pinto beans and cole slaw. Four stars for these precautions, missing the fifth star for lack of options.

Sauces are not gluten free. Be sure and ask questions. We ordered the bacon wrapped chicken stuffed jalapeños at the smoker only to find out inside at the sides area that they are not gluten free. A little limited on side choices but they did have cider (if you don't mind angry orchard). The staff was a bit confused until they remembered there's a small list of gluten free items they can check.
