My child (13) has celiac disease and we have had concsistently excellent experiences with Tepeyac! I learned about the restaurant from friends in the Latinx community who said it was fantastic for tacos, etc. When I went by to try it out on my own I asked about GF, cross contamination, etc. they were knowledgeable and very willing to accommodate my kid’s needs. We tried it out with corn tortillas - my kid loved the tacos and had no gluten reaction. Next time we went my kid wanted tostadas, which requires frying the tortillas. We asked about it and they just said, ‘no problem, we will just make a separate pot of oil to fry their tostadas.’ Now that is my kid’s favorite dish and they have never had a bad reaction.
They also are willing to do things off menu - my younger daughter prefers her tacos to be avocado and cheese. No meat. Just A and C. 😂 Again, not a problem and they were happy to make them.
Finally, from my perspective as someone who loves to explore lots of different foods - this place is AMAZING. So delish. The hardest part is choosing what to order. It’s a small place in a plaza next to an appliance showroom - don’t let the humble location fool you! It’s awesome.
