Absolutely fantastic food and extremely knowledgeable about cross contamination. I didn't even get around to asking about the fryer situation before our waiter told us it was shared with gluten items and that they could pan fry many things instead to keep them safe for me. Menu is not marked, but waiter was knowledgeable and most things were already gf or could be made gf. The gf focaccia is incredible! They even brought some out with the cheese plate without me even asking (I was just going to eat the cheese plain). Everything we ate was delicious and I really appreciated having multiple choices for dessert that were gluten free! This is one of my new favorite restaurants!
Maybe it was an off night? I wanted to love this place, but instead I felt like a massive inconvenience. I was also led astray by the waiter on a few starters (e.g. truffle chips aren’t celiac safe as they’re cooked in a shared fryer—the person bringing the chips to the table confirmed when I saw them, but the waiter had suggested them as a GF option?!) So I basically just ate a bunch of shishito peppers (which were very good) while everyone else enjoyed the chips and pate (the waiter scoffed when I asked if they could provide GF crackers instead of baguette with the pate)… le sigh. Basically go for a drink and the GF focaccia (which they were sold out of and I didn’t get to try, but all the other reviews sound great!). Good luck!
Stopped here for drinks before dinner elsewhere and ended up ordering some bites as well. Couldn't skip the gf focaccia and it was incredible. My (non-gf) family liked it more than the regular bread they got. We also got the shishito peppers which were made with tamari. Drinks were really good here and the rooftop seating was lovely. Menu isn't marked but our server was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free. Felt safe and didn't get sick.
Had an amazing experience here! Our waiter was new but incredibly well versed on menu items and knowledgeable about Celiac, gluten and cross contamination. His manager also stopped by to ask how our experience was and reiterated their safety protocols. Felt great after eating here and it was DELICIOUS! Don't sleep on place!
AMAZING! Especially when they have their bread omg. The food is incredible, bistro and high quality meats and flavors. Super safe, no cross contamination since they prepare in a separate area. The owner is celiac herself! My only complaint is that their fryer is not GF so I’d love some more carb options (that can also be dairy free) especially if they don’t have the bread. But absolutely delicious and I will continue to go here! Was brought here for my birthday and brought my sister for hers and the owner came and checked on us throughout the whole meal, gave us free champagne. Really just lovely!
Incredible experience here. Very accommodating for celiac. No dedicated fryer, but they will prepare food differently to accommodate. Extremely kind about my needs and the entire staff was communicated with as anyone who dropped food or asked how we were doing knew that I had celiac.
Terra Plata was awesome! Our waitress worked with the chef to annotate the menu with DF/GF options and how to make them so. A lot of options and no issues with CC (fryer was not dedicated btw). Food and drinks were great too
Food was delicious!!! And my waiter was very knowledgeable. They do not label GF on their menu but waiter gave me the impression much of the menu could be modified or is already GF. Everything I wanted to try was GF and was super tasty. They also offer a gf bread basket which I rarely ever see.
Nearly everything on the menu is or can be gluten free, but the fryer isn’t dedicated. Our server was very knowledgeable and we were able to get the fried peppers fried in a pan. Each course came out and they double checked that the dish was celiac safe. It was so delicious and I loved the in house made rosemary grapefruit soda too. The setting is also super beautiful and great for a nice date. Probably the best date I’ve had since being diagnosed.
My partner and I enjoyed an amazing meal here. Terre Plata focuses on fresh local food so their menu changes frequently. However we found most of it to be naturally gluten free! Our server was knowledgeable and always offered to double check with the kitchen to ensure I’d be safe. We shared a fall salad, lamb ribs, and the flan, which were all delicious. They also have an incredible wine list! A great intimate date night spot.
The staff is super knowledgeable and happy to modify anything for you
