I had a salad (no croutons), sirloin and sweet potato and didn’t have any issues. Good food, friendly and helpful staff.
Wonderful to know a steak house has trained their employees on gluten free. As soon as I had said no crutons the server asked if I was gluten free. He was very knowledgeable as to keeping me gluten free. Unfortunately the steaks aren't seasoned. And no gluten free option for breads.
A number of gluten-free options if you order the right thing. I know a few celiacs that eat here.
Bad for Celiacs - MSG in their seasoning Andy it's on everything! for gaming events there, I just get a big sweet potato and iced tea. they'll make an unseasoned steak, but the grill is contaminated.
Although this establishment claims to be Gluten Free friendly...I beg to differ. The waitress was rude and acted like I needed a miracle preformed. My options were 2-3 items...no exceptions were made to accommodate my allergy. I ordered the salmon and it was a very expensive piece of over cooked, dry taken out of the freezer piece of fish...yuck!!
Read online that meats would be ok without spices/sauces. When I ordered, waitress came back and said chef says everything comes preseasoned. There was nothing to change my order to so I still got my food and even my green beans had seasonings on them. I had a few bites of my meal before giving it to my friend and was extremely sick the whole night. Don’t waste your time and money here
If you ask, they do have a (limited) gf menu. Their seasoning/rub is NOT gf, so I ended up getting a steak with just salt, pepper, and garlic that the cook baked for me, since their grilltop is used for everything. 3 stars for the really limited selection, but 5 for the staff for their knowledge and going above and beyond for me in the food prep. The cook urged me to complain to corporate about the ease of changing their seasoning recipe to be GF and more inclusive.
Very nice and knowledgeable. I ordered the filet no seasoning and a sweet potato with butter only. No reaction yet
Staff wasn’t very informed and told me they used to have a card but Texas Roadhouse doesn’t offer GF. I informed them the menu is in existence and showed on my smartphone at the restaurant website. Worked with me after just be very descriptive of what you order and follow what Texas Roadhouse has online.
They have a GF menu. It’s small but they have more that just a few items to choose from unlike most places. I usually have the salmon, veggies and a salad. I dislike that their butter had gluten in it. Because it would allow for more items to be on this list without it. I am satisfied with the overall experience. They were extremely sweet and accommodating. I don’t have celiac but I do have a gluten allergy. I don’t eat anything with gluten in it anymore so I don’t ask for precautionary measures to be taken. That you would have to look more into.
I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't think I could find anything that I could eat, but was pleasantly surprised. They don't have an official gluten free menu in the restraunt, however, online there are detailed instructions on how to order your food to insure that it's safe. The waitress was very kind and helpful too!
The have a non-gluten list that the waitress can give you and a system (including a button when entering orders) to signal gluten free to the cooks, so they understand what it means to be gluten free but don’t guarantee it because there isn’t a separate kitchen. Grilled meats can be done without seasoning as well as several sides. I had a steak, baked sweet potato, and steamed veggies that hit the spot.
Not GF Ordered GF salad . Came with croutons and when given to waitress they just took them out of the salad and served it to me. Debating if I should even trust the steak I wound be coming back. 1 hour later I was sick from the steak and veggies and mind you I didn’t eat the salad Would not recommend
Ugh! Asked for steak without seasoning. After first bite I knew it had been seasoned. I told the waitress I was sure the steak was seasoned. She went to the kitchen to ask the chef and came back and said they had not seasoned my steak. I was sick within 5 bites.
Our son was recently diagnosed with celiac. we went here completely forgetting about him not being able to have gluten until it was time to order. the waitress was super knowlageable about the difference between celiac and gluten intolerant. she let us know that they cannot guarantee that there won't be any cross contamination, but she will notify the cooks. she did tell us that they do have a separate fryier and recommended some items.
The items on this menu (if ordered as directed*) are prepared to be “gluten friendly.” However, these items are not necessarily gluten free. Because most Texas Roadhouse dishes are made from scratch, cross-contact with allergens can occur. If you are gluten sensitive, we recommend you review the list of suggested menu items** with a qualified medical professional prior to consumption.
small menu but manager came over double checked order and was very attentive to the allergy. my husvand never gets sick!
Great place for your basic meat and potato. I've eaten at these restaurants before without issues. Fun atmosphere if you like country music. My favorite part is always the peanuts on the table. Menus are at the table as well and you need to ask for the gluten free menu.
Love coming here for a nice steak with a loaded baked potato. The waiter will send over manger to take order for someone with allergy. Cooked my steak in oven with salt and pepper very delicious.
Not many options and do not trust the gluten free menu. I think they may have gotten rid of it. Don't eat the marinades, seasoning, or salad dressings at all. But, if you find yourself here in a pinch, I always order the sirloin with no seasoning, the baked potato with sour cream not rolled in grease, and a side salad with no croutons and no dressing. I have been fine multiple times ordering that meal. I cannot eat their dressings or the mixed veggies or green beans. I had reactions after those times. It is definitely not celiac friendly and staff are not very knowledgable but they try. That said, I have never had a reaction after sticking to the basics above.
When I asked for GF menu, the server winced and said we're not really safe for people with Gluten allergy. Told him that I just wanted a steak, baked potato and green beans with no seasoning on them. I got glutened anyway. :( Will not be coming back again but I appreciate the server's warning though.
Terrible communication, called ahead the manager said fries were gf, the manager at time of arrival said they are not... Proceeded to list items he thought were gluten free and included Mac and cheese. Ugh. Asked for a steak with no seasoning. Steak was served with seasoning. My poor kid only ate apple sauce for dinner that night.
The website states there if a GF menu, but there is nothing for us to look at. Instead, the manager lists off the VERY few menu items available, including chicken with no seasoning - not even salt and pepper. It's clear by that insult of a "menu" that they don't want to be bothered with our community.
