Thai Cafe & Take Away

We LOVE this place. Anytime we’re in town when they’re open we bring food home (we live 40 min away). It’s really delicious, authentic Thai food. We always bring out of town guests here too. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

When visiting Stornoway, we arrived later in the evening, and many restaurants were closing. Our AirB&B was just around the corner from this restaurant so I stopped in to see if they had a gluten free menu. They did not, and the front of the restaurant staff didn’t seem to know what I was asking for, so I wasn’t too hopeful. But, they went to the kitchen to get the owner. She came out and greeted me and asked what we’d like. She then went into the kitchen to speak to the chef. She returned assuring me that they could accommodate. She even said the chef knew how to make Pad Thai without soy sauce, so it would be gluten free (and still taste like it should). Once I was ready to order the chef came out and talked to me about each gluten free order (one for my son with celiac, and one for my wife with an intolerance). Not only were they very accommodating and helpful, but the food was delicious!! Some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had! Who would have expected that on the Isle of Lewis!?!
