Our visit at the Algonquin was an absolute disaster, food-wise.
Their new dinner menu shows several Salad and Appetizer items as being Gluten-Free, but nothing in the Entrées. So I asked our server. She said to make my choice and she'd check with the chef. I chose the Chicken, which the server confirmed the chef would make gluten-free. The only gfree dessert choice was a fruit bowl, so I passed.
Unfortunately my salad and chicken were not gluten-free. I was quite unwell in the night.
By breakfast, I was feeling better. I avoided the buffet and chose off the a la carte menu. I had the gluten-free Breakfast Bowl with Quinoa, Avocado, Eggs, Tomato Confit, and confirmed with the server about my sensitivity. I was ill within 2 hours. I don't pay the kind of prices this place charges so that I can be stuck in my room for half a day.
Until the Algonquin gets a new Head Chef and creates a new menu, I would avoid it at all costs! We're going elsewhere for dinner tonight.

I stayed at this resort recently. Great resort ! Kids really enjoyed it. I ate breakfast at their restaurant while I was there a few days. The breakfast buffet is not coeliac friendly but their menu « à la carte » does include 2 gluten-friendly items (avocado toast option and breakfast sandwich with gluten free bread). It was very good ! For dinner, my waiter was knowledgeable about coeliac, went to check with the chef to be certain which menu items were gluten free. I ate the oysters, salmon and the gluten-free desert. Everything was delicious. Staff was very friendly. I recommend this restaurant/resort.

Ate dinner in the mail dining room. Server was knowledgeable and was able to recommend menu options, and the. when food was delivered, server said chef was aware of the food restrictions (very reassuring). Breakfast — there was nothing that was GF and DF in the breakfast buffet so had to order off menu. Had good avocado toast on the same bun as last night’s lobster sandwich. No reactions whatsoever to gluten or dairy.
