I had brunch at The Broken Yolk with a friend this past weekend because I heard they had great gluten free breakfast. As a celiac I was very excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the rumors I heard were untrue. I ordered the gluten free waffle with over medium eggs and bacon. 1. The waffle was grey in color, had no salt, and tasted like chemicals. I've never tasted anything like it and I burped up tge nasty thing hours and hours later. I only ate about 1/4 of it. 2. I dont typically fuss over eggs, I tend to order them over medium because many restaurants tend to undercook them. These eggs were not even over easy. I had to scrape off a thick layer of clear undercooked membrane, but decided against eating them after a couple cautious bites. 3. The 2 tiny pieces of bacon were the only thing I finished. 4. My black coffee never once got refilled. 5. Our waitess didnt seem to want to explain the menu to me, nor would she make eye contact with me for the remainder of our time there. My meal was $15.90, which is absurd for the tiny amount of food that was served. To The Broken Yolk's credit the manager did take notice thst I had barely touched my meal and asked if there was something wrong with it. I was so upset and didn't feel like complaining or fussing, so I stayed silent and told him I just wasn't hungry. But while I am still experiencing a flare-up 4 days later and have been in pain ever since I've eaten here, I felt it important to leave an honest review.
