I was blown away at the grand opening of this spectacular restaurant this past Thursday. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was able to dine without any cross contamination! Both fine dining and tavern style options are available with gluten free options for both adventurous and picky eaters. About half of the menu is prepared without gluten containing ingredients and can be prepared celiac safe if you notify your server. At the mention of an allergy or celiac disease, a manager came directly to my table to assist me with ordering and ensure safe food preparation. Anyone working there who is not currently SafeServe certified for allergies, will be in a short amount of time. The pastry chefs even ensured that two of the desserts are completely celiac safe!

I split the bass and duck with a friend, and we were both incredibly satisfied. For dessert we shared a Creme brûlée and an incredible soufflé. My main criticism of the dining experience would have been that not all of the servers have completely memorized the table numbers.

Overall, everything was spectacular, from the uniquely handmade cocktails to the exquisitely prepared fresh food. The menu and wine list had me envying every table that had ordered something different from my own selection, while still leaving me incredibly satisfied with my own selections!

The Brushmill is currently reservation only and can ensure gluten free bread will be available if you give a couple of days notice with your reservation. I am optimistic that gluten free bread will be consistently available as the restaurant becomes more popular.

If anyone hopes to enjoy the burger or grilled cheese off of the children’s menu, they can use separate pans and simply need to be notified at the time the reservation is made. Even so, the fine dining and tavern menus include items that many picky eaters will still enjoy.

For parents of infants or children with sensory issues, there is a lounge with a door to reduce sensory input, chairs, a mini fridge for storing formula or pumped breastmilk, and a changing station. There are three bathrooms which are all gender neutral. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible! The Brushmill also boasts beautiful reclaimed wood seating for its guests and provides high chairs in the tavern dining room for smaller patrons. The restaurant is full of beautiful dining areas and history, while still maintaining a safe family friendly space.

Whether you are out for a family dinner or celebrating with a bottle from the spectacularly curated selection of wines, The Brushmill by the Waterfall is an excellent choice.
