The name means you need to prepare yourself for loud thrash metal music. I quickly decided I needed to make my meal to go. But their chicken fingers and corn bread waffles were fantastic! The bartender assured me they use a separate waffle iron! I felt safe eating here - and I did not get sick after I did!

Great food. Servers are knowledgeable and polite. Never gotten sick eating here. Only thing is the music is loud and it’s typically heavy metal or the sort.

This place is incredible. The food. The service. The atmosphere (it’s an alt/metal theme). Super attentive and celiac knowledgeable. This will be a regular for us!

Food was tasty and the waitress was knowledgeable. I had a portobello mushroom burger and it was very small. I would go for something more substantial next time. My husband had chicken and waffles-they were really good. It’s quite loud so be prepared for your ears to bleed but it was fun!!

There was a separate gluten-free fryer and the GF chicken and waffles and tots were AMAZING. Crispy and well seasoned! Our server was knowledgeable about what could be made gluten free and was not afraid to say when she didn't know and would ask. 10/10 would go there again.

Amazing! It is a metal bar, loud hard music, but the food is incredible. The waitress we had was knowledgeable and was able to steer me in the right direction. She asked if I was celiac. She said the owners sister has celiac too and the menu was designed with her in mind. Most things can be made GF. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the brisket sandwich with tots. Oh the tots, I’m still dreaming of them. Dedicated dryer. Did not get sick, great happy hour drink specials. Will 100% be back to try more.

Dive bar with loud metal music. If you can embrace this, you’ll have a great gf meal.
Short 15 minute wait for a table. Played arcade games and ordered high noon and a certified gf kombucha made in Fort Collins.
Ordered wings with dry rub (smoked then fried) with side of their spicy Buffalo and ranch. Wings were small. Ranch was too rich and fatty for me but Buffalo and dry rub were good. Rub had a little sugar in it- definitely something they play with here- the spicy with sweet.
Fries are house cut and can be put in a dedicated fryer.
Husband had gf chicken and waffles that is as good as all the other reviews say. Waffle had jalapeño and corn meal to create a denser, spicier finish.
Also tried a side of green chili. Ordered the veg, but found a few bites of what tasted like meat mixed throughout. I didn’t bring it up since I do eat meat. Corn tortillas on side warmed in foil to avoid cross contact. Spicy, good flavor.
Good allergy training for celiac. Vegetarians be careful.
Tried to call in for takeout a few days before and sat on hold for 30 minutes and never got an order in. Go in for good service.

It was my first time and the reviews seemed great. We pulled up and I was a bit skeptical. It seemed more like a bar than a restaurant. It’s a mixture of both. I had the chicken and waffles (OMG SO GOOD. The waffle was fluffy and light and the fried chicken was to die for). I really enjoyed my meal. They have a designated fryer for gf. Also, the owners sister has celiac so the menu was created around her. Almost everything was gf or could be made gf. Their desert however had almost no options as they mostly had flour in them. I asked for any desert and they weren’t sure. 2 waiters contacted their boss to double check that there was no cross contamination and that it was 100% gf. My waiter was super sweet, knowledgeable, and understanding. Love this place. 10/10

Great place! Don’t let the exterior fool you. The staff is knowledgeable about celiac (owner’s sister has celiac) and can make most anything GF. Separate GF fryer. The staff is amazing and the chicken and waffles was delicious.

The brutal poodle ticks all my boxes.. METAL, drinks and a great bar menu! I’ve had the chicken and waffles and this evening I tried the southern Mac and cheese and it was simply delightful! We also had the wings and lollipop stuffed prawns. All the food was excellent and the noodles are giant! I love how accommodating they were for gluten free and knew what celiac was. Overall if you love metal and some tasty gf treats come here!

Our first time in Denver & the gluten free app led us to The Brutal Poodle. It’s got a unique hard rock vibe. The gluten fee options were great. We had the chicken wings, brisket sandwich & the chicken & waffles. They have a gf fryer and it was great. Homemade ranch & blue cheese dressing. The margarita was tasty too. Waitress was super helpful & friendly. Yum!

Don't let the asthetics of this place fool you. I would never think to go to a punk rock bar to find excellent food (especially gluten free) and great service, but The Brutal Poodle had both. Server told us most menu items can be made gluten free. He recommended the chicken and waffles, and while that wasn't a dish I typically ordered even when I ate gluten, I went for it. Wow, so good! The waffle was light and crispy and amazing. Perfect blend of savory and sweet. And the chicken was delicious. My husband ordered the brisket sandwich and sweet potato fries. While the gf bun was typical, the juiciness of the meat covered up the dry bun.
I really couldn't recommend this place more. We were just visiting Denver, but next time we're in town, I'm definitely going back.

Amazing experience at the Brutal Poodle! Apparently the owner/chief has a sister with celiac. I had the chicken tenders and fries (and was extremely doubtful they would be fresh or good). THEY WERE AMAZING!!! It has been years since I’ve had chicken tenders that were freshly battered and fried! They can make most things on the menu GF (including their famous chicken and waffles - which I will try next time!) My girlfriend had the brisket and said it was fantastic! So grateful that this place is willing to put in the extra effort!! THANKS GUYS!!
