The Chester Arms

Just had a lovely meal at the Chester Arms. The food was very tasty. My hubby had the gf fish and chips which he loved. They also catered well for my daughter who is vegetarian. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I am celiac, dairy intolerant and have an intolerance to olive oil and they made me feel like this was the most normal thing in the world. They honestly couldn’t do enough for me. The service was amazing, everything was double checked with the chef and kitchen staff and the food was absolutely delicious. They kept apologising for the wait on the food, but we honestly didn’t mind (it wasn’t a massive wait) as we knew that everything was being freshly prepared and they were taking care to make sure there was no contamination. In all honestly, this is the first time I’ve felt completely at ease eating out and felt like I wasn’t an annoyance or inconvenience. If you’re looking for somewhere cosy, friendly, safe to eat I would 100% recommend a visit.

Booked ahead, when I got there they had printed out a special "Gluten and Egg free" menu for me which was a lovely touch (I'm a coeliac with an egg allergy).

Considering my double whammy - still lots of options for me including several pudding options!

Had the cider pork with leek gratin, was scrumptious.. somehow followed that by a delicious plum sponge.

Everything prepared carefully and fab consideration here for those with special diets.

Fab Gluten free menu, really friendly & helpful staff. The gluten free sticky toffee pudding is so good! I will be back soon to try more from their gluten free offerings!

Stopped in for lunch break on our way south after 4 hours on A1/M1. Bright cheery very helpful staff and lots of GF and dairy free options. The best GF baguette ever eaten my wife tells me. Will go again when visiting friends in the area.

Dedicated gluten and dairy free menus with plenty of choice and knowledgeable staff. Food is average pub grub but great to have such a wide choice
