Symptomatic Celiac

Overall Rating

Review

Staff were nice enough though slightly green, server offered me bread a few times forgetting I was coeliac which I laugh about (or I’ll cry as I am sure we all have at some point regarding being gluten free). Owner/Manager did advise they were fairly new and still leaning etc which is great communication from them. I didn’t have any reactions which is good but we felt the tables were a bit small and gave it that slight ‘fish in a tin feel’. No side dish for shells until we asked; same with the finger bowl (which they bought out with ice in). Skewers came out on fire, a niche thing but I didn’t order my beef with a dusting of ash. I did order chargrilled soy honey chilli wings; received cremated suspected chicken and couldn’t take more than a first bite.

This may seem like an overly honest review and it is; we finished on a happy note after a lovely chat with the Owner/Manager where they took feedback with the wish that a more successful visit was in the books.

Owner Response

Hi Kira,

Thank you for your review, I'm glad to see that we have plenty of gluten free options for you. We apologise that the server asked if you would like any bread to begin, it's apart of our service steps, but we can assure you if you did agree to bread, the chefs would've gave you a gluten free alternative, or found a way for you to have that pre-starter dish! We're sorry the skewers didn't come out to our usual standard, all our beef skewers are cooked on our coal fire, if requested, we could've sent these back to the kitchen to be made fresh, we have found a way to stop our skewers from coming out 'on fire'. Sorry the tables were too small, we could've added an extra table for you to create more room for your food items.

We have continued to improve since your visit, as the Manager mentioned to you on the day, we will sort yourself and your partner a complimentary drink for your next visit with us.
