We did not eat here, ended up leaving. The server was kind, but when asked what they could do for GF breakfast, they said the only option was oatmeal. I asked if I did a simple eggs/bacon/toast breakfast was possible, he went to talk to the kitchen, and reported back that neither the bacon or sausage was GF. They were nice about it, but didn’t seem like they wanted to be bothered with accommodating my needs.
This may be the best breakfast/brunch I’ve ever had. LOTS of options. French toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, tacos, etc. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend. Host was super helpful and atmosphere is awesome.
Ate here for lunch and got violently ill. Spent 4 hours in the emergency room. Turns out they gave me regular bread instead of GF. Please don’t eat here if you have celiac disease
Thank you! Very candid wait staff shared that they try to be celiac friendly but do not always succeed. They do have gluten-free options but cannot fully protect from cross contamination. Very much appreciate their candidness.
Food was delicious. Double checked my order to be gluten free. Still had a reaction after. Not sure if cross contamination happened or if my body just acted up, I did call after and double checked the polenta crab cakes and hollandaise, no gluten.
The staff here is wonderful! Before being seated I wanted to make sure they had gluten free options on their dinner menu (dinner is a recent addition for them). At first he thought there were only two options but went to double check and came back with wonderful news about there gluten free options. All three of their sandwiches can be made with gluten free bread, all but one salad could be gluten free, three out of the six fish options were gluten free, and the fish special that day was gluten free. Only one appetizer was gluten free and there were no chicken or meat dishes that were gluten free. The children's menu had gluten free pasta as an option. The host and waitress were not always very familiar with what had gluten but they were happy to ask the chef and the chef seemed very confident in knowing what had gluten in it. I am very sensitive to cross contamination and did not get sick from eating at The Cottage. The food itself was amazing! I got salmon over risotto with sauteed veggies, the veggies were a little bland but the salmon was superb and paired nicely with the marinara based risotto. The host informed me that he will be redoing the menus and wants to make sure that gf options are clearly marked on the new menus.
What was so great about The Cottage was we could order exactly the same thing we always do with some minor modifications that didn't affect the taste whatsoever. So delicious and filling. My husband ordered the Orange Juice Mimosa and I got the Tangerine Mimosa. It was a perfect way to start brunch on a Sunday. We shared the following: Roasted Vegetable Frittata, substitute White Cheddar, add Mushrooms Bacon (mmmmm) and Avocado. A Side order of Gluten Free Stuffed French Toast with Strawberries and Bananas... Remember NO Scone. The proportions are large so sharing is caring. 😉
long wait. didnt make me feel too.confidrnt when irdering, however I didn't get cross contaminated.
yes celoac safe, but cover all your vases very carefully
Had an amazing experience! I wish I remembered our waitresses name because she was jut wonderful. I have Celiac and they are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to gluten free. I had the french toast and they used a new batter for my french toast. Cute patio area as well. My husband isn't GF, so he got the eggs benedict and loved it! Great service and ambiance.
The gluten free French toast was delicious! There are lots of other gluten free options listed on the menu as well :)
The gluten free French toast was delicious! They gave you a lot too. It's dipped in a separate batter from the other French toast. I'm VERY sensitive and had no problem.
Great outdoor patio, delicious gf blueberry muffins and guacamole and unique chilequiles with verde salsa. Wish they had more cocktail choices. Kids could have shared a grilled cheese but other than that it was fantastic!
Enjoy a fried egg sandwich or eggs benedict on gluten-free bread at this local gem. It is a pleasant dining experience that you will not want to miss.
Off the charts good! Even had GF hot sauce for my fish tacos! Gluten free menu.
