Ordered the plain pizza with gluten free dough and left a polite note asking to avoid contact with wheat. NIMA sensor tested positive for gluten. Did not eat.

I absolutely love this place. The gluten free pizza is phenomenal - easily the best I’ve had other than in San Francisco! We order pizzas and salads here, and sometimes they have madeleine bars that are delicious too. I have never been symptomatic and am highly sensitive celiac. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, just let them know it’s celiac!

Delicious GF pizza! I can't eat at most pizza places (CC), but did not get sick here. The only thing is that I wish the GF pizza was marked. I was a little worried because it tasted so good. I could see the crust looked different from my family's regular pizza, though.

Although we are not a certified gluten-free facility, we do train our team on many precautions for avoiding cross contamination. However, there is flour in the air from our pizza menu. If you have a life threatening allergy, as much as we do want your business AND do take cross contamination seriously, please understand that human error may occur and therefore it may not be entirely safe to dine in a restaurant that has gluten within its walls.
Best gluten free pizza ever!!!!!!!!
The GF Pizza is a MUST!! OMG! I am hooked. I am not from Philly. I was just visiting and the place I was at didn’t have GF options. I searched and found this place who had GF Pizza. I know most places have GF pizza, and it’s horrible, dry and yuk!! I decided what the heck let me try it…. Boy I was not disappointed…

Took an hour and a half to get our food! Service was very slow and the gluten free pizza crust wasn’t the best. Server seemed to understand celiac procedures but not worth an hour and a half wait.

Service was alittle slow. But pizza was really good - thin crust, square. Really one of the better thin crusts I’ve had in Philly

This is my absolute favorite place to order from. We live in the neighborhood and get takeout here every few weeks. The food is always delicious and I never get sick! There are also so many options to choose from. The pizza, garlic bread or knots, and fries are some of my favorites!

We were visiting from out of town and ordered takeout- it was AMAZING! I got the GF coach tony pizza and it was the most delicious pizza I’ve ever had. I stopped on my way out of town to get another! No stomach issues and average prices. Would definitely recommend!

Brendon was our server and he was so polite and on top of the gluten free situation. He knew the fries were gluten free but took the extra step to check on the fryer. FYI….They are not in separate fryer I had a gluten free sandwich on gluten free focaccia bread. So delicious. They were fast to seat us outside and quick to bring food. I will definitely go back when I’m in the area again.

I went there 13 days before my wedding. I had been there before and been fine. They had a specific option to click for gluten allergy and the staff was very knowledgeable. I ordered the soba noodles which I had ordered before and they came out with fried onions on top. I knew they had a shared fried so I got worried. I asked the waitress and lo and behold, the chef has messed up. The waitress was extremely apologetic and promised to fix it. I should have left then but I stupidly trusted her. She brought out the new one and promised that it was “100% gluten free” the manager even comped our whole meal… when I am currently 11 days out from my wedding, glutened and crying from the pain. Hopefully I am better in time for my wedding.

The food is good but the service is terrible. Each time we were here it took upwards of 2 hours to get in and out. The wait staff doesn't work with a sense of urgency then just tells us they're short staffed or busy. The food isn't worth it for dealing with the service and I don't think we'll return unless it's for take out.

The Couch Tomato Bistro offered a great experience. Their menu offered anything from soup to eggplant dishes. My friends and I eat totally different; I like to choose healthier organic options as they prefer heavier dishes such as pizza or pasta. I can say that this visit, both of our dining needs were met. The atmosphere is modern, and a great place to bring family when they are in town. Service is timely. I personally love the ability to craft your own sandwich. I can say I am picky when it comes to my food. The Tomato Bistro is extremely accommodating. I definitely recommend.

Food tasted great. My daughter and I did not react well to it though. I hate to say anything bad about an establishment in these tough times, but I feel for anyone who is trapped in a house with a celiac who got glutened.

Great pizza and good amount of gluten free options. Staff seemed to know gluten allergies. Had to take 1 star off because they don't have gluten free fries. Good cider selection and my wife (not celiac) liked her food a lot.
I've eaten here every few months for many years, and despite frequent staff turnovers, they still manage to train the staff about handling GF food. I've ordered the pizza every time (excellent margherita pizza!) and never gotten sick from it. I would recommend that you ask for a newly washed glass for GF cider as they are the same as the beer glasses. Love the place!!
Excellent choice, excellent pizza crust and toppings!

I used Couch Tomato catering for one of my events and the food was delicious. The ordering process was easy and staff was very friendly and helpful. The quantity of food was more than I expected, was fresh and hot, and had unique options that other restaurants did not have. They had several Gluten-Free and vegan options that tasted great. I will be using Couch Tomato for all of my future catering events!

AMAZING! Loved my experience here. Especially the plant based options! Cant wait to go back.

Soooo good! Had the GF Florentine Pizza and the tomato bisque- YUM! $3 mimosas! Friendly service! My not-GF husband loved his regular pizza as well. We can’t wait to go back and try more deliciousness! 100% recommend!
We absolutely LOVE the couch tomato! 😀🍅Great atmosphere with high quality food, served by a friendly staff. Due to the organic taste, diverse menu, and great craft beer selections, this place has become a staple in Manayunk for my husband and I. We highly recommend trying one of their artisan pizzas & fries.
I LOVE their soup and grilled cheese combo. I've ordered it on 90 degree days because its just that good! Friendly atmosphere and good service. Will be going back many more times.
The food here is amazing. There’s options for every type of dietary restriction. They have a bunch of gluten free options as well as a whole plant based menu. There’s tons of healthy and organic options. I love it here!

I love Couch Tomato! They have an awesome vegan menu and lots of gluten free options including gluten free crust for their delicious pizza!

The salads are super creative and fresh! My boyfriend loves the pizza! Super crispy! Customer service is exceptional! Can’t wait to take out and dine in again!
I had been here a while ago and loved it, but my recent visit was very disappointing. Tomato bisque was good but the pulled pork was very stringy, dried out, and overcooked. The bun that it was on (which I had loved before) was hard and dry. The coleslaw was so bitter that I couldn't eat it. Prices had increased. For the first time I didn't finish my meal.
Servers seem to be knowledgeable, but food was not that good.
Wonder what has happened but I don't plan to go again. Very disappointed as this had been my go-to place when in the area.
We have eaten here several times with our daughter who has allergies to gluten, corn, nuts and melons. Wait staff upstairs has been knowledgeable and handled all questions well. No problems ever as long as you discuss and stress need for separate pan or foil if getting something grilled
Yes
I have gotten glutened here multiple times when ordering out from the downstairs restaurant to-go. I have even called and complained afterwards to let them know and nothing changed. This is also after explaining while ordering that I have celiac/gluten allergy and need special care for my pizza and meal. I have eaten upstairs without problems, but glutened when ordering out. Get it together Couch Tomato!

They poisoned my wife about 4 months ago. They had dumplings on their "gluten free menu" that was definitely not gluten free, and didn't tell us until after she ate them. They are in it for the money and don't care about the people or their health.
No
I had the cheese board with Gf bread, and two pizzas on gf crust. The prosciutto arugula pie was amazing. When the waitress brought my husband’s soup she stated it was not gluten free which reaffirmed she knew to watch everything coming our table. I felt comfortable and had an amazing dinner!

By far the best pizza I've had. The sauce has such a better taste than most pizza places, and the pizza is always cooked perfectly. You'll pay for the quality, but it's definitely worth it - every time.

Had the fig & pear pizza — GF of course. And it was amazingly delicious. We don’t live close but I would seriously drive a distance to get this pizza. They were knowledgeable about celiac and very accommodating.

I visited the Couch Tomato for the first time this weekend while my parents were visiting the apartment, in Manayunk, my boyfriend and I have just moved into. It is a much larger restaurant then I thought it would be (and good thing because we wouldn't have found seating). There were food options for everybody and everything was delicious!
