Went here excited to have gf french fries (which seems to be a rare treat). Unfortunately, the fries are fried in the same oil as non-gf items(not sure if this is a covid thing or their new normal). Waitress very enthusiastically assured me that she would inform the kitchen of a celiac issue and ensure “it was spread everywhere so that everything would be safe.”Ended up getting the lodge burger which was served on gf bread (no buns) with a side salad. It was ok, nothing special. On the other hand, my non-gf husband had the pulled pork which he said was the best pulled pork he’d ever eaten, so perhaps other menu items would be tastier. Lovely outdoor seating only due to covid.

I was hesitant to try The Deer Lodge, because the only review on FMGF was from 2014 – but I'm so glad we went! The place has been under new ownership for about a year, and they've retained their friendliness towards people who are gluten free. The fryer was exclusively gluten free, there's gluten free bun options, they were more than willing to make sure there was no cross-contamination when preparing my burger. I didn't get glutened – and I'm a super sensitive celiac! The atmosphere was nice, and it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
Fun and unique atmosphere. Live music at night. Items that are gf and vegan or vegetarian are marked on the menu. Staff is knowledgable and helpful. Farm fresh to table and menu appears to change with what is available.
