Review of The Desserterie

Loved this place. Amazing food. So why two stars? The gluten free bakery items are in the same case as the ones full of gluten, and often right next to them! We had never had an issue before, so I guess we were playing the celiac version of Russian roulette...went there tonight and ordered a gluten free creme brûlée...somehow between ordering and receiving it got cross contaminated and it made my son extremely ill. The brulees are prepped in the back, so I don't know exactly how the cross contamination happened, but if they have the gluten/gluten free items in such close proximity in their bakery case there is no reason to assume it's any safer in the kitchen. Very sad that we can no longer consider this a "safe" place to dine.
