Not sure how I feel about this place. I’m pretty sure gloves were not changed when my son’s ice cream was scooped and the employees were handling cones also. I wrapped a bunch of napkins around his cup and washed his spoon before giving it to him. Next time we will get either the Mai Kai jar so that I know it has been fixed ahead of time or the ice cream sandwich. They were out of it, unfortunately. I do think I would feel safer with one of those although he did well with the scoop.
Went for the gluten free ice cream sandwich and it did not disappoint! It was pre-made so felt safe from the preparation side. The person taking the order knew exactly what gluten free meant and spoke highly of the ice cream sandwich. It was also a lot bigger than expected. If you are gluten green you must try it!!
I was told nothing was safe but the soft serve due to cross contamination. Ice cream is not made there, but in a facility that could have gluten. The worker had a relative with Celiac and commiserated with me but did not feel anything was safe ( lactose intolerant too )
Brooke helped me and was amazing and knowledgeable about Celiac. This place had several GF options but is not for those with Celiac. Cross contamination is a huge issue and would not trust anything but soft serve. I would like to thank Brooke from saving me from a horrible exposure.
Great place! The gf ice cream cookie was amazing. Definitely big enough for 2. No worries with cross contamination. They were very careful.
Ice cream sandwich was huge and great. I wouldn't trust anything else. On a second trip they were out of the sandwiches and offered to make me one on the spot but after some questions, it was clear it would be cross contaminated. You can also just get one of the cookies the sandwich is made with, which are really good too.
So I should have read the reviews first and realized my mistake after I took a bite of the cherry oblivion (GF). If cross contamination isn’t an issue for you then you’re fine but DON’T do the regular scoop ice cream. While they do have an “allergy scoop” that they clean separately and sanitize they don’t only use that scoop for the GF flavors. They have the standard metal scoops they use for all the ice creams and then rinse them all in a little soak sink. I definitely got sick this evening from it. However I was with my family and everyone loved their flavors and the portions are huge! I should have just stuck with the soft serve like I normally do. But would be willing to try the sandwich everyone else is raving about.
Just tried to go tonight and they have eliminated several of their dairy-free options including coconut milk-based. They still have them posted on their website, and the customers in front of us were also seeking this and were disappointed. Worthless trip! We walked away without anything.
So good! Cookies are homemade on their ice cream sandwiches. Portions are big!
I was so excited to try their gluten free ice cream sandwich. It was all I could talk about doing when I got to cocoa beach I'm going to eat a huge gf ice cram sandwich I don't get to have things like this very often in fact it's been 9 years ago that I found out that I had celiac. Anyways THEY WERE OUT! In fact the kid working said they were almost out of everything! How could this happened it's advertised all over! So disappointed I did end up getting some just ok ice cream wasn't impressed for the price:(
