I didn’t trust their gluten free pizza crust so I stuck with ordering a salad . Somehow I got glutened by a salad made out of cucumbers , tomatoes , walnuts , and red onion with a sprinkle of lime juice . I assume cross contamination . I asked about gluten free three times and the hostess even checked . Guess not . Luckily one emergency run at a nearby porta potty was all it took this time but I almost ruined my whole weekend !
I ordered the Garden by the Sea salad because the other two salads I wanted weren’t GF (Caesar and Fresh Kale chipotle). Didn’t feel like there were that many options based on the reviews I’d read. They also brought my salad out with a piece of bread lying on top of a large romaine leaf, which was touching a few parts of the main salad as well. He said he could take it back and get it fixed. (He knew I was celiac and avoiding gluten—the first thing he said when he set it in front of me was “I can take the bread away.” — just mentioning because the menu didn’t mention that it would include bread and when he brought it back he said they just swapped the piece of romaine out but I’m pretty positive it was touching other parts of the salad. I hate confrontation and was so hungry and tired at this point, and had kids with me so just thought WTH, I’ll eat it as is). I am asymptomatic so can’t say for sure whether there was cc but I frustrated thinking there probably was and I work very hard to avoid regardless of symptoms. I would just be careful here.
