Was super excited until they told me they no longer carry or make gluten free onion rings😩. That was what I was most excited for. Fish was pretty good though for gluten free.

They are aware of all celiac protocols & are friendly & knowledgeable when you ask questions about their processes.

This place is gluten free fried heaven!

Everything on their menu regardless of it being gluten free or not is wonderful! At least that’s what the gluten eaters have told me. :)

The owner/operator family is exactly what you’d expect in Louisville:incredibly kind and thoughtful. Older gentleman at the register reassured me that the gluten free fish is prepared separately from this beignets. Had fried fish and chips. Try their jalapeño tartar sauce. Delish!

Hands down a must go to. It’s a little dive but the food is incredible. Best fried fish I’ve had in the states. It rivals the GF fish and chips I’ve had in Dublin!! They are all very helpful in explaining what’s GF. It’s not greasy and the breading stays on the fish. Amazing

Ditto to the other reviews. Scrod and shrimp dinner was plentiful and tasty. They easily and cheerfully accommodated dairy free too. Including offering 2 coleslaw options - dairy free, and regular. Condiments are all available on a side table with ingredients labels visible. highly recommended!

First off, I am usually NOT a fan of fish (my husband is, so I figured I would try it). Let me tell you-i was not disappointed! Leslie was very kind, attentive and informative of my options. She even let me know that the scrod held the gluten free batter the best (so I didn't have a crumbly meal). I would definitely recommend trying them out! *I have a wheat allergy and had no reation.

Loved this place! The owner is upfront that his staff is not perfect but that they do there very best to make sure you will have a gluten-free experience. (But honestly I think that is any kitchen, including my own, since I live with a gluten eater.) They have a separate gluten free fryer, which made me feel safe, and they handled my order with care. I had the fried fish and fries and enjoyed the tartar sauces (also gluten-free). Awesome experience as a celiac to enjoy fried fish again. My gluten-eating husband really liked this place, too! We will go back.

The woman at the counter (who said her family has Celiacs) said almost the entire menu can be GF... including fried fish and hushpuppies and onion rings and fried pickles. She said they couldn’t guarantee safety since it was a shared kitchen, but they have a dedicated fryer. The fish, “green river style” was delicious!

On a small vacation to Louisville, we heard about this place. I read the reviews about the appearance and my family noticed immediately that it was in a run down part of town. I told them to stop being chickens and that it’d be well worth it! Well I was right! On his first bite my brother gloated about how it was the best food ever. I have Celiac and ordered the fried scrod and fries with gf tartar sauce. It was soooo good! The fries themselves were amazing. I was disappointed that they didn’t have hush puppies or onion rings, but it was still worth it and the owner was nice and friendly. All the staff were!

Finally, breaded catfish, seafood and hush puppies that you’d never dream were gluten-free! Laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere, fast and friendly service, and delicious food made for a relaxed, delightful experience. My daughter, who has no food allergies, had the catfish sandwich dinner and I had gf fried shrimp. They serve brownies, cookies and beignets for dessert, but I had no room after my meal. The owner took the time to sit down with us and tell my daughter the origin of beignets, and even made her one at no charge to try. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Fish House and hope to return the next time we visit Louisville!

Omg, this was SO delicious! I had a serious foodgasim! I almost never eat fries food so this was a long anticipated treat. I got the tilapia combo. The fries were fresh and yummy. The coleslaw was unique but oh so good. Oh man, the fish... the fish y’all! SOOO GOOD! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere has such a fun and funky feel to it. They have a designated kitchen area and separate fryers. I think I’m going to have to try to make The Fish House a monthly treat!

I had excellent lightly breaded haddock, cod, and fries today. Lots of fish choices, no chicken gf, just an fyi. You can get fried or broiled if you want. Not salty or covered in a million spices, very tasty. They have a dedicated fryer and are super friendly too! So happy to have found this place for a quick lunch while passing through Louisville on my way home to Chicago area. Thank you!

What an absolutely amazing place for fish. So glad we stopped. Everyone was super friendly and the food was by far the best gluten free fried food we’ve ever had. It’s a bit of a drive from Madison, WI but the next time we’re in the Louisville area, we’ll be sure to come back!

We were in Louisville for the weekend and I was craving seafood, but not wanting to pay the high price tag associated with a chain for mediocre food, so we took a risk on The Fish House not knowing what to expect. It was BEYOND AMAZING! It was packed, so we knew the food must be good. The young lady at the counter was extremely knowledge and crossed out the items on the menu that couldn't be made gluten free. We ordered the fried scrod, fried shrimp, fried mushrooms, hushpuppies, fries, green beans and coleslaw. Everything fried came out piping hot, crispy, and delicious! It was very obvious that it had just been dipped and fried fresh. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and my daughter even ate the fish (which at 2 years old, she never usually likes fish). Every single person we encountered that worked there was very helpful and nice. Yes, it is a hole in the wall and yet, that somehow adds to the charm. No frills or gimmicks...just really good food. It was truly a great experience and I didn't get glutened (I am non-celiac but break out in hives on my face, so it's easy to tell when I have been glutened). I will definitely be back everytime I come to Louisville! Superb!

Gluten free fried fish! Wow! It's awesome! And the fries, fried mushrooms, and onion rings were all fantastic. Such a treat! They cook all the gluten free items in their dedicated potato fryer to keep them free of cross-contamination.

By the looks of this place, you'd never know that they have anything gluten free and it isn't indicated anywhere on the menu, so I'm so glad to have found it on Find Me Gluten Free. I will eat at this place anytime I'm in Louisville!
