We ordered the fish & chips plus a side of onion rings. All items were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy as we hoped! Unfortunately it all lacked seasoning and it is near impossible to add it afterwards. Please salt and pepper the fish before you batter dip it (or add the seasoning to the batter itself), it will make such an improvement. Same with the fries and rings, please salt them right when they are removed from the frier. By the time they are at the table, the oil has dried and salt will not stick to the chips.
Very safe for celiac. Some of the owners/workers have celiac so they get it. Only non-gf thing is burger buns and they keep those on separate side of kitchen. I usually get sick at non-dedicated gf restaurants but did not get sick here, seems extremely safe. The fish n chips was delicious, 10/10 quality.
Great place ordered a whole load of stuff to try. Gf halloumi and chips, frickles, battered pineapple. Gf condiments. Could have done with a slice of lemon with the halloumi but otherwise great. Not completely gf restaurant but batter seems to all be gf and very good. People can chose regular buns for burgers.
Everything on the menu is gluten free. Everything is table service.
Fantastic existence. Pretty much everything on the menu is gluten free and super tasty. The fryers are 100% gluten free. We tried the fish cakes, haddock, chips, frickles (fried pickles), pineapple fritter, and ice cream. All of it was delicious and I felt great afterwards. I’m so grateful for restaurants like this one!
Not just amazing gluten free fish and chips, it's just amazing fish and chips. Lightly battered, perfectly cooked. Completely gluten free restaurant, using tapioca and rice flour as aetter. No cross contamination issues. I waited 10 years to find a fish and chips and was not disappointed.
I’ve been gluten free for the last 4-5 years, The gluten free options here are the best I’ve seen, this is only topped by the quality of the food. Many years ago I had a haddock and chips which tasted so creamy and the fish was so white it was amazing, 30 years on I’d never tasted or seen haddock like it, I began to believe it must have been something I remembered wrongly as nothing I’d tried since met this quality, then I visited “the fisherman’s kitchen” last week, I ordered the haddock and chips (gf by default) I sat in my car and started to eat the fish and wow! It took me back 30 years and it wasn’t a figment of my imagination this white creamy haddock does really exist, it was the nicest tasting and looking fish I’ve had in all these years and amazingly it was gluten free as well, I’ve been back again since and will go every week that I’m working down this way, I’m already looking forward to next weeks visit, the staff are very friendly and nice as well so all in all I have to give a 10 out of 10 review for this great place.
Brilliant Fish and Chips and so wonderful that it's completely GF.
